Found MSRP in SoCal!

I have never had a car in the past that I had to pay the gas guzzler tax on. I got my invoice today, and they put the gas guzzler tax, than added sales tax on the total, so I am paying sales tax on the gas guzzler tax. I am not this is legit.

Weird thing is that after everything was completed, I asked, "I'm assuming that this is the 6 spd manual transmission..." He completely missed that choice, then said he thought BMW was changing to make ONLY the DCT! I told him that I would only take the 6 spd trans and he said he'd get back to me.

I also asked for no front license plate so there's no holes in my front bumper to which he said we don't do that cause people were threatening their dealers with lawsuits; but he said he'd "See what he could do".

He said the production slots for April are not available yet, but I'd get the first one when they were. I guess that puts me for delivery in May?

Price was $74k including everything. They have a MANDATORY $1690 paint and interior protectant and LoJack package which I guess is their form of a markup.

My guess GG tax, sales tax and that mandatory thing. in cali that can run upwards of 9.5k

Good guess.. 8.25 Redondo Beach Tax, Licensing Fees, and that stupid $1690 Package.

Update - So I'm still ordering from Brecht until I have a order in at the 3 other SoCal Dealers that are selling for MSRP. North County is holding a #2 April production slot for me, Crevier is holding a #4 April production slot, and Shelly said that they may have a March Production slot!! So.... I'm waiting.

After all that to get that $1690 off my tab, I'm pretty sure I'm adding the Enhanced Premium Sound. I had no idea that its much more than just better speakers. I'm on the fence about HD radio. I can't vouch for the quality of High Def radio cause I've never heard it in a decent system, but the ability to have double the amount of FM stations is a great advantage; w/o the subscription of SIRUIS. I'm thinking of registering the car in SD where my folks live, tax down there is 7.75%. If I can swing that, it will offset the price of HD.

So much for SAVING money!
