Just finished BPMSport ECU tune & code

I haven't had my 2013 E93 M3 long, but thanks to this forum was already looking at all the cool changes and mods you can do to it.

Last week I had some coding changes performed remotely by Mike B at BPMSport. Then this week I finalized the coding and had the ECU tuned. All I can say is WOW!

I took it out just to get a feel for any changes and it's like a whole new car again! Kudos to Mike for creating such an easy process for people to follow to get these features added to their car. I thought about learning to code it myself, but I work on the other side of the US and just don't have time to learn it - let alone make ANY mistakes.

Mike's changes were awesome. Even without M activated (EDC off, Power On, DSC on) it still has this 'uncaged' feeling to it. Activating the M (EDC Sport, Power Plus, DSC Euro MDM) it is an animal!

When we bought our 911 C4S we drove a turbo to see how we liked it and I remember telling the guy, 400hp with turbos should give me that HAND OF GOD feeling when they spool up. I just wasn't getting that feeling in the 911 turbo. I was a bit disappointed - hence the C4S sitting in our garage. But the M3 gives me everything that I was looking for in the Porsche and more. I am so in love with this car.

If you're looking for an easy upgrade, check Mike out. Funny, easy going, and all around nice guy.

/obligatory - I am in no way affiliated with BPMSport.

Glad you're happy with the tune.

I remember the first time I drove a 996 turbo and had similar expectations as you. It was fast, but I too felt a little disappointed. Oh and just to mention it, it was small meet with about 6 cars and everyone just threw each other their keys and we switched cars....it was pretty cool.

They are writing about 996TT, which are no faster than E92M3s, at least in stock form. The 996TT may have a stronger bottom end with more torque, but they cross the quarter mile at about the same time at about the same speed. I would personally still rather have the 996TT, but wanted a warranty.

not to go too far off topic, but I been craving a 996 tt for a lonng while. IMO a great freaking deal but the interior is def looking dated. But the motor is amazing. RWD conversion, big turbos= lots of fun

I'd probably choose a slow 997s over a 996tt. There are a ton of threads about this though and the 996 turbo looks to be the popular choice.

Unfortunately with this car, there aren't all that many mods avail in the first place that make huge gains.

I told you that the BPM Sport tune is awesome! One needs to drive to understand the feeling. Enjoy.

The M3 impressed me when it was bone stock. The variable geometry turbos in that car spin up so smoothly that the 'turbo' experience was lost. Sure the horsepower's there, but I was expecting this car to come with a punch when they spooled up. It just didn't do that.

I would add that it's still an amazing car! But for the money we get that same smooth rush of power from our C4S and saved about 20k.

Oh, and I agree that the interior is a little dated. That nav is HORRIBLE. And the stereo was an afterthought. We spent about 7k just to bring the sound up to par with what my E70 X5 had. It's not a cheap car to upgrade stereo components with the fiber optic MOST system.

I completely agree. It's a noticeable difference, and I'm not the type to throw a supercharger on this car when I only put 5k on it a year. Plus the 4 year warranty is too good to throw away with some crazy mods.

Some are always skeptical, and that's okay! I was too.

Whats with all the bashing of tuners lately? No one is forcing these people to post their reviews, they are doing it on their own and giving their opinion.

I have yet to read a review from an unsatisfied customer for this particular tune so do you think everyone is just making it up and there is some big conspiracy? Unless you have purchased this tune and were disappointed your view is really baseless.

+1! im incredibly pleased with my BPM sport tune, having tried several other tunes previous. the midrange torque has improved, the increase in torque is very noticeable in day to day driving. The BPM tune has really transformed the car, couldn't be happier.

People express these reviews because we want the word to get out. We spend good money on these cars and don't like to be slighted.

I imagine people are writing good reviews after spending their $ on this tune because they approve of it?

Sounds like you need to hit the power button to really unlock the tune.

+1

And besides....tunes are NOT only about pure top-end HP gains. It's about more "usable" HP and TQ across the powerband. Ay caramba.....
