If money were no object I'd get the full envy system + drop in filter.

Although there are many good intakes on market, I would be very cautious about getting aggressive intake on E9X M3.
Because S65 engine is equipped with 8 ITBs, I am sure BMW have spent good amount of R&D time to achieve best and EVEN air flow for ALL 8 cylinders. Poorly re-designed air intake camber WILL affect the air flow, causing un-even air distribution. Some cylinder will have more air flow, some wont... Leaner or Richer air flow will definitly shorten the engine life in long term. Even some stock V8 engine cars have same issues due to poorly designed OEM intake manifold, so it is something I would be very careful if I plan to own the car for long period. |

This sounds like a good assumption, but it is still just an assumption until someone coughs up flow bench data. Hypothetically speaking, it is within the realm of possibility that some aftermarket design could improve on BMW's numbers. It's equally possible that an aftermarket design could prove considerably worse.

I'll tell you where you can get a good cai. Look under your hood you already own it, it came with the car, just change the filter element and spend the rest of your money on something else .....like a call girl or something, thats what tiger should've done.
Anyway our stock box is amazing it has three ports for fresh cool air to enter thru the element and into the engine. Add the air scoops and call it a day thats my personal opinion. |
