Question Service interval questions - how big of a window?

My 08 E90 is telling me to change the oil in 2400 miles or before April 2012. My BMW Ultimate Service expires April 24, 2012. My question is: How soon before the oil change indicator will the dealer find it appropriate to change my oil for free? Surely I wouldn't be able to schedule a free oil change tomorrow?

I am mainly concerned because I don't plan to drive the car a lot once it starts snowing here and I would obviously like to get the oil changed under the maintenance program.

Also: Around how much is an oil change at the dealer?

Thanks

Usually it has to be within 500 miles for them to have it approved for change through free maintence. If you pay it will be about 120 in the US anyway

OP sorry for going off topic but most of my relatives live in Uniontown, PA

Now to answer your question...yes, if you are within 500 miles you should have no trouble getting the oil change done under the free maintenance program. Start driving the car extremely hard and that indicated 2400 miles before service will drop quickly!

I was just at Rahal BMW outside Pittsburgh yesterday and was told that it has to be within 1k miles. I would call and confirm with your dealer though to make sure you don't waste your time.
