I think I'm set on NOT installing the overlays; too much modification to the overlay is involved.

??? Your questions are like mine...???

BB's tint photos are all posted here on this thread since it is about the BB tints. Smokes out the lights how you wish. Many of us hate the "orange reflector". I ordered the "front side markers" covers the front orange reflectors. Not sure if your 330 has the orange?? I know the "upper models" dont but not sure if it is the 5 series or 330 on up....or maybe 2007/2008's on up.

WEB

OEM stands for something like "Origional......something". So when I say "OEM spoiler" I mean it is the origional style BMW dealers sell. It clarifys what style I have. There are tons of styles of mods. Look on the "PHOTO THREAD".

All my parts are replicas of the OEM style (not authentic BMW brand)except thetail pipe tips.

Replicas are much cheaper but you get what you pay for. Being that I plan to sell my car in a few years, I don't want to invest a lot of cash. I bet the BMW parts (authentic) are a much better quality but I was pleased with the replicas I bought.

First.....I do not know a lot....lets just state that out in the open. Just a chick who decided to either sell my BMW for a more $$ one or just jazz mine up a bit. Being that I just got my car new three years ago.....not wise to sell. I am jazzing it up for now to keep interest. I am not into cars other than I LOVE $$ cars. I am a typical "girly girl". Not a "car chick" by any means other than to drive them!!!!!

Photo 1:
OEM spoiler (replica) ordered painted (could choose color)...with shipping paid about $190. Fits ok---ends came up a tad (lifted) about 2 CM. Cant really notice. Bothers me a tad. Guess that is what you get with replicas. Not 100% fitment. DH said he may poxy it down. EBAY. ***Not my car in photo. Just shoes OEM trunk spoiler style. Another popular OEM style is the "M3" style. Thinner. Many perfer it.

Photos 2/3:
OEM front splitters (replica)--Killer deal for $160 total painted and shipped!!! Nice...EBAY. You can also see in those two photos BB"s amber outs (front side marker orange tint cover on the front head lights). Painted what ever color you need. Just took those pics today. Just put them on yesterday (yes..I did it myself!!! Claps appreciated! )

Photo 4: Origional chrome tips from BMW dealer. 330 style fit the 325 and read they are "larger" therefore nicer. Paid about $90 (need two left ones w/o valve) with shipping from dealer (Circle BMW in NJ). Made a GREAT change to my car. NO IDEA how I lived so long with out them!!!! Lets be honest, how could BMW sell me a $38,000 car with out them in the first place????? Slide on and "click" in place. Two seconds. One of my fav. changes!!!

Photo 5: CF roundels in black and white (silverish) for the hood/trunk/tires/st. wheel. $90 total on Ebay. You can get all kinds of colors. Kinda neat. Even pink and white. I would never..... but it did make me smile! Girly girl.

#6 tips again--more side shot

(Can you tell I am an Ebay shopper?).

** Many guys will recomend people on the boards who sell parts. I am pretty sure (99.99999%) that the parts are better quality. Got some quotes and it was enough of a difference in price I decided to go with Ebay.l I didnt want to put a lot $ in and I think these parts are fine quality and the paint matches. Fine with me. To each his/her own choice. If I was going to put like $10,000 in my car with mods I would not want the "cheaper" Ebay stuff but...since I plan to trade/sell in a few years......I wont get that money back.

I also **think** you want to avoid any "fiberglass" replica parts....dont wear well????

Any other questions just PM me Fun!!!!
You drive a 330....jealous......wish I just forked out the extra cash. MISTAKE....this is why I am hot to sell my car and trade UP!!!!!

We've quite a few installs here in San Diego wit no issues at all. Granted, the kit is slightly oversized to ensure full coverage, some trimming will be required after it sets. Shoot me an email with your contact number .

Thanks for the answers!

I found some tint over the weekend that I used to do my windows in my jeep. (They turned out great!) I was thinking of making my own overlays with it. I was thinking that if I :

Wet the headlight
Applied the tint w/ backing on
Blowdried the tint to "mold" it to the headlight
Trace the amber w/ a fine point marker
Removed the tint and cut on line with razor off the car
(Save first one as atemplate in case it does not last)
Apply the tint "for real"

That may work also. Not sure about durability though.... Something tells me they will not last too long. I do not know. Anyone ever try this?

Sea2Sky -Funny how you get a few POV's....

I say you have nothing to lose!!! Tint is "cheap". I read some fella used the blowdryer and it worked well but at FIRST he melted the tint. I chose to avoid the blowdryer since I did not want to risk melting the tint and needing to order a new set. Cant you get a whole roll of tint for a reasonable price??? Pep Boys?...Keep in mind BB's are only $20 or whatever .......but if you buy a roll you will have more to "play with" and add to other lights on you car. Sounds like a lot of work??....Guess you could use a nice thick paper (poster board???) and make a template to use.

I think you can do it. I am not professional enough to cut my own....BB's worked fine with a slight trim.

If you mold the sides back around the light you wont see them if they are not perfectly cut...but the fronts will need to have nice lines (smooth ,angled good, not wavy etc) since they will show....my hands do not work that well to cut them from scratch. Lefty!

KEEP US updated! Take pics if you do make your own???? Thanks!
