What type of bulb is this?

I'm changing out the reverse light bulbs, which I thought were a 921 bulb. This is what I took out. Doesn't look like a 921. Anyone know what type it is? I have a 2013 E92

PH16W bulb type is correct. Perhaps, the 921 is soldered on to the lens?

phw16 comes up in a google search. Not a very common bulb looks like, at least aftermarket wise. Think I'm going to scrap this mod. Thought it was a simple 921 wedge bulb. Thanks for the help.

According to Sylvania, it's just a 921.

Yeah, from the info I found on the forum here and sylvania's website, i picked up some sylvania 921 bulbs on my way home yesterday. When I went to pull out my bulbs, I found what's posted in my pic. That's definitely not a 921, which is a wedge bulb. So I'm wondering if BMW changed things for 2013 models. I know they changed TPMS. Mine are now orange.

Well when I looked it up, it was for a 2012 so I don't think it has anything to do with the 2013.

Right, I did the same. They didn't have 2013 on their website yet, but logic told me 2012 would be the same. Moral of the story, don't use logic

The 921 bulbs were $10 so it was worth a try. The bulbs on my car look like they're attached to that board. If I need to swap the entire board and spend $100 on an LED replacement unit, then it's not worth it.

Thanks for the link. Wish I knew about these back then, as they are much cheaper than the Lux ones I went with.
