I think it's silly actually to re-badge your car something that's it not.

People who don't know what an M car is won't be impressed. People who do won't be impressed either. And you'll be laughed at on forums. Even though it's not an M3 badge, it's an ///M badge. The 1M only has an ///M badge. That should mean something. Yes, yes, I know about the new M performance line. But I sincerely hope those cars have performance improvements to back them up. To me, this is akin to someone with a future ///M335i car changing it out to an ///M3 badge.

Maybe a month or so ago I was in a bar and a dude came in wearing a Raiders jersey. I knew he wasn't a real player on the team because there was a Raiders game on one of the TVs. Well that and he was about 5"2' and 100 pounds. So I kicked his ass for being a poser. That will teach him not to wear a badge that doesn't belong to him.

well it does have the M-sport package which includes the front and rear bumper kit, but I've never seen one with the ///M badge. Must have been added by the owner? Technically, it's not incorrect...

Who gives a rats ass how other people badge their cars?
Its has zero impact with what I drive. You wanna hate, but where do u draw the line? Stickers without the parts or sponsorships, BBK's without any track time etc.... Carbon fiber wraps on roofs to look like the E92... It's entertainment. If you make it more than that, then you need to seriously find more worth in yourself than the status your car provides. Let it go....

Buying and wearing counterfeit watches is much worse that putting an M sticker on a car, at least it's probably an authentic sticker!

I used to have a Z4 M Coupe. If you'd remember, just like the Z3 Ms, these models only had M with no number or letter following it. I had people asking if it an M3, I had people asking if it is an M5 (yes, that happened)... My cousin, who is in to cars, called it a Z4 M3. So still, they impress the uneducated car enthusiast

People who put an M badge on their car... I don't care, it's their car!; People who wear fake brands of clothing... I don't care! It's cheaper for them and it is their own money. |

I think it's human nature to want to believe that something you do or own is special or unique. When someone rebadges the car it lessens that feeling for others. Not everyone is bothered by this. Personally I think it is disrespectful to the M heritage and engineers who developed the M vehicles. Many may not understand this, but in hockey there is the tradition that you never touch the Stanley Cup until you've won it. It's kind of like that in my view.

I say we go all Hell's Angels on his ass and throw him a beating for wearing our colors without being a member.

You guys that are bent out of shape over this might want to redirect your frustration to BMW headquarters. Our new 7 has ///M logos on the sills, the wheels and the foot plates. I didn't put them there, the factory did. Yes, it has the M-sport package, but frankly, I could do without the ///M logos.
I understand why some of you don't want them there and don't disagree, but take it up with the guys at corporate. |
