Good luck with your order. I order my M3 on 10/17 and today is 12/09 and its still waiting for transport . And also you hit the holiday schedule. You'll be lucky to get it by end of Feb. That's just my .02.

right, but that's still 2 weeks from actual shutdown when I placed my order...it's not like they were back up due to thanksgiving week...so what gives?

If you read my post in the Porgy roll call thread, you'd understand my frustration...with this current build and completion date I'm looking at february as the woo mentioned, which puts the wait almost 5 whole months....ridiculous...

How is that possible? I placed my order 11/12/10 and it's already at the VPC in GA and is scheduled to be at my dealership next week. I have seen a few people who placed orders before me and will be getting there's after me and wondered what causes this. Does anyone know?

I'm assuming for us Westcoasters, they have another ship specifically for all of the Westcoast deliveries therefore we have to wait for one of them? Someone correct me if i'm wrong...

Gene, keep in mind that each dealer has a certain number of production slots allocated. Your dealer, caught off guard by the screw up in your order, may not have had a slot available until after the holiday shut-down. Sucks to have to wait that much longer...

This is what I was going to say. To the OP, just read Porgy roll call thread and that really sux!

Your wait time is really long, longer than anyone BMW order I heard off. I really hope that you order gets somehow moved up or maybe go to another dealership that has a better slot?

thanx..

unfortunately I doubt any other dealer would have a better slot as holiday shutdown starts 12/18 and goes to 1/10/2011...so doubt anyone has a slot for next week...if they do and is reading this....LET ME KNOW....

this long of a wait tho and all the unfortunate events has really made me second guess my order and continued business with BMW.

to top things off, I found out the trim was wrong on this current order (it was scheduled for brushed alum not CF leather, which is what I ordered and on my order/build sheet). Luckily I have a contact into the US SC plant and is keeping tabs on my order for me, he's trying to see if he can bump my production week but it might be locked by my dealer. Yes I was able to correct the trim color as I called my CA immediately. Again he apologized and blamed his manager for the mistake as he put in the order not my CA (my CA said he's no longer allowed to put order's in since the mix-up on my first order). Needless to say, my confidence in my CA and current dealership is not the highest, but I already have an order in with them and technically scheduled for production.....FML

ask me if I'm going to do business with them again....

Paul Miller BMW (in NJ) has an E93 M3 really loaded, if not fully loaded...forgot what color, but I think its IB.
Since your dealership messed up, ask them to get that for you, eat up the additional options...just a thought! Lol

have your CA pull your order info, it will state what build week your car is scheduled for, hope it's not in the same boat as me....

I also ordered mine on 11/12 and my dealer had a slot. However, my car just left Germany on a ship.

I'm in a strange boat.. My car is in production but scheduled for completion on Dec 21. Which is not possible as the factory is closed on on th 18th.

I was told the dates are usually wrong and that they usually finish faster than predicted but.. I'm worried my car will either be left sitting on the factory floor to be continued on week of Jan 10th or be rushed to completion at the expense of quality with holiday lazy drunk Germans rushing to start their holiday break.

Its weird I ordered my car last monday and sales person had a production #2days after and said they started production and he had never seen it started this fast before. He called me friday and told me I might get lucky and have it 1st week in January or end of this month! I used 1800 # to track it and it said estimated production finish date is 12/15 so I called today and it said production complete in transit to port...so I dont understand why mine completed so quickly.

Each dealer is allocated a certain number of slots for each model. That will vary by the size of the dealer but in your case your dealer likely had an M3 already slotted for production that was simply for their inventory. Your order was close enough in terms of spec that the minor changes (if any!) could be made right before the car went into production. Don't question, just be happy!!

Keep us updated on how it progresses because I'm curious to see how this goes since the factory closes down on the 18th till jan 10th for the long holidays.. Somehow I doubt that your car will be done this year.. I see it sitting on the factory floor half done for 3 weeks till jan 10th.
