Chuckwalla 06.10.2012 (Star Car Sports)

So, after Big Willow on Saturday, moved onto Chuckwalla on Sunday (after a stop-over at Morongo Casino, lulz). Another 105°F day at CVR.

Didn't have any lap (times) worth a damn (best was 2:10), so might as well post video of oh sh*t moments and of otherwise screwing around the track.

.

.

P.S. Gotta find out why my car slides so easily at corners. I know some of it is caused by me turning in too early. But, after having watched other cars & their videos, my car clearly need more grip at the back and/or coilovers.

What tire pressures are you running and what tires do you have?

Pressures sound about right, not sure what the issue is.

Well you seem to be getting really good at catching yourself!

Is the track particularly dusty or sandy? It looks like you're running the wet skid pad at Skip Barber.

@chili_cheese & @paradocs98: videos of other cars that day that also ran R-S3, but we're on coilovers (E92 M3, 370z, etc), show them going thru corners faster consistently with no drama.

Taking corners a bit later (i.e. better lines) might help reduce oversteers...

Other possibilities are, my tire pressure gauge is faulty, or current set of R-S3 (I'm on my 3rd set) is from a bad batch?

It does seem a bit odd, particularly because I see you attending events every weekend, getting tons of seat time....man I have to admit I'm a bit jealous.

You could try a different tire all together.

Also, I noticed that you have aftermarket suspension. I don't have any experience with track specific set-ups, but perhaps someone who does can chime in here and "review" your settings?

You should:
1) Drive my car (with DSC off, of course) and see if you feel a big difference (since we have same tire setup and same power, just different suspension)
2) Get a cheap bluetooth datalogger so you can monitor throttle position; maybe it is related to throttle application? You are welcome to borrow mine (I bring it to the track all the time)
