Need help with GTS DCT software

Yes I have searched and searched a lot and it helped me a lot to get to this point. I downloaded standard tools and datens from Bimmergeeks and everything seems fine, my cable is from OHP and according to INPA I have connection and detects ignition ON. Following instructions on how to from different users on here I get stuck at a point. When I open WinKFP I follow all the steps and when I’m about to enter the VIN step 11 it wont let me, I read somewhere that was optional so I skip it but when I go for F3 Program it goes back to step 6 to select ECU again. I get an error, any ideas ? Thank you.

Got over that error 200 and now I’m getting error 106, this is frustrating. I’ve updated daten files on coding tools and on Winkfp manually.

Does your NCSexpert read your car and you are able to code things with NCSexpert? or does INPA actually work?

https://www.bimmerlabs.com/help

Bimmerlabs has a good configuration check for WinFKP.

Haven’t tried NCSexpert, INPA is working fine.

Hey man, please post some pics if you can. I did my GTS flash a few months ago, and I had an issue (don't remember exactly what) but I wasn't stuck on it too long. if you post pics and that happens to be the issue I had, maybe I can remember something.

Can you confirm OBD setup is correct?

OBD has a pin on it -- correct position?

Settings in device manager -> OBD (whatever the interface is) -> advanced settings (or whatever menu it is in) -- correct settings?

Error 106 is usually bad or missing files. Did you import the files and verified that 00GS40.IPO exists?

Try following the Bimmerlabs to import the latest DATEN files.

Check your ebidas settings. I recently just flashed this on my brother in laws m3. It had been several years since I last used winfkp, ncsexpert, and ista on the E series as I use my foxwell for diagnostics. Apparently my ebidas configuration had changed on my laptop since I last did it and had to reconfigure my ebidas.

Also I was getting some errors while flashing this time. And I kept restarting it. And eventually it completed. I think my cheap amazon cable is not reliable anymore.

I just noticed that on INPA I do get the solid dots for Battery and Ignition but on Shift F2 for E90 I can’t do anything. I modified what Sinner mentions on this picture except the DCAN utility bit.

Your error clearly states the particular .IPO file is "not found or erroneous". Missing or corrupt. What version of datens are you using and do they contain ALL the E89 files, most importantly the one currently not found. I think your program installation & cable are fine but I suspect your datens are incomplete or not loaded in the proper folder locations. Before you run BMW tools daten updates confirm the default locations. Also what I've done in the past is unzip my huge datens and delete anything not pertaining to E89 which covers our M3 and many other cars. This will make the import faster and of less size. Why import daten files you will never use?

PS:You could run a file search for that particular IPO file by name or "*.IPO" and see if you have it on the PC or MAC.

I’m gonna delete the E89 folder and download them again see if anything changes. Looked for the file and cannot be found

Try updating manually through WinFKP.

https://www.bimmerlabs.com/help Follow this guide to do it.

Does this file exist in the DATEN files you downloaded from Bimmergeeks?

00GS40.IPO

It does not, it should actually read like the picture I just don’t know how it changed or why. I can’t get it back

Did you check the actual folder in Windows explorer?

So I would try downloading datens from a place other than Bimmer geeks. I bought my software and it's in English and even with all my tinkering I could not get Bimmer geeks to display everything in English. Bimmer geeks software is kinda crappy but it does load effortlessly which is its main good point. I know datens can be found for free but I think I paid $10 for my V49-55 daten files over the years. I would say just get other datens however you can and after unzipping look for your needed IPO file prior to importing just to avoid wasting time.
