Opinions on Nitto NT05s?

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone is running the new Nitto NT05s? I am considering these for the M3. I run NT01s on my track car and they are a great tire for the price, and was wondering what peoples opinions were on these both on the street and track.

I was looking at these for my track wheels. How are they for track tires?

The NT01s are fantastic track tires. I used these in 2 forms. Shaved for Solo1 and unshaved for wet Solo1 and regular lapping.

These are not as sticky as hoosiers, but stickier than PSC. They also last fairly long. Basically the same tire as the Toyo R888, so above average R-Comp dry grip, great turn in, and better feel than any other tire I have tried. Although not as sticky as the hoosier they are more comunicative. They were about .2-.4 sec slower than the hoosier I think, but hard to say as I didn't test them on the same day.

The non-shaved tires are good for nearly 300 laps, but this was in a 2400lb car. I had them on my R32 GTR as well and were good for only 200 laps so that is the life I would expect in the M3.

Let me know how you like them. I may move to Rs on my M at some point.

I ordered the NT05s from Nitto, and will through them on soon!
