VA emission test method

Can you pass VA emissions with catless exhaust. This is what i heard from an exhaust seller and i dont know if it is the same in VA

"I'm not sure how VA does emissions, but in NJ it's via the OBD II port. So as long as you have a catless tune there would be no check engine light and will pass emissions."

Most tunes i think turn off the 02 sensors, so when they plug it in, it will show that the sensors are not working but you wont pass!! I might not be 100% sure, maybe someone else can chime in also.

You will not pass VA testing with a catless exhaust. VA uses the OBDII port to check you emissions and without cats the test will read "not ready" regardless if you have a tune or not.

The emissions test will check for cats and since you dont have any the test will come back as "not ready." The primary cats have to be on the car for you to pass the test.
