Arc-8 no, EC-7 yes. Not sure about the new wheel.

Surprised you didn't find by searching. There's actually a thread on this exact subject.

EC-7 18" wheels have a larger barrel opening so they can clear the Brembo 380mm, Stoptech 380mm and AP Radical 370mm kits.

The ARC-8 has a few less millimeters of clearance. Brembo 380mm is not recommended with the ARC-8. Stoptech 380mm clear, but it's tight. I'll have to look up clearances on the AP kit.

What's the widest most aggressive track setup for semi slicks please Eddy?

Is 18 x 10 with 275/35/18 front the most we can fit? And.. 18 x 10.5 or 11? with 295/30/18 for rear?

Thanks

11" in the rear with 295 is ideal without pushing the limits in a compromised way.

Up front fitment will depend on the car. A car with stock suspension or lowered suspension (no added negative camber) can fit 18x10" ET25 with 275/35/18 tires. Some run 285/30/18 but they're short.

If the car has camber plates then 18x10.5" ET25 can fit up front. A spacer will be needed to clear the strut (5mm usually). Tire sizes specifically for semi slicks would still be either 275/35 or 285/30. Street tires which run comparatively narrow could be as wide as 285 or even 295, but would require close attention as not everything will simply work, and some rubbing would be unavoidable.

Suspension will have a big impact on this type of front fitment as the clearance is very tight. Stock front struts clear the 10.5" + 5mm spacer with meaty tires with little room to spare. If an aftermarket suspension is fitted with any of the following, then clearance could be compromised: A long main spring that pushes the lower spring perch down next to the tire. A "V" shaped spring that results in the lower spring perch moving down next to the tire. A extra wide strut tube body (most commonly cheap Chinese coilovers with ride height adjusted by body instead of spring perch).

A good example of an aggressive square setup vs. than the typical 10" square setup members run is the Maxxis sponsored E90X M3 club racer. It's running 18x10.5" square with 275/35/18 Maxxis RC-1 tires. The wider wheels give the 275's extra support.

Note that 295/30/18 is a full 1" smaller diameter than OEM. 295/35/18 is consistent with OEM diameter. Some people run 295/30/18's because there are some great tires only available in that size (and they usually pair with 265/35/18 up front). Some examples include, Hankook TD, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup. Nitto NT01's are available in 305/35/18 (also close to OEM diameter) but that size will require at least et30 on a 11" wheel.

Thank you. I was a bit confused whether 10.5" or 11" is the best match to a 295.

I currently run the 10" square setup with 275/35 NT01's and it's not good enough, mostly in the rear due to so much power.

Looks like I will order the 2x 11" rears and move to hankook z221 but they are only avail in 295/30/18, urgh!!

I do fit Nitto Invo 305's on my BBS CHR street wheels though which are 10.5" and I think ET25

Do you know of any good semi's in the 295/35 size?

I'm guessing the main issue would just be speedo would be out and running a slightly narrow sidewall?

I don't, the closest thing I can recall is the NT01 and the R888 are both available in 305/35/18.

Speedometer might be off, DSC might be unhappy (if you use it), and your putting on a tire with a sidewall height equivalent to the appropriate 19" size. Again, many have done it and the fastest drivers seem to make those compromises to run r-comps.

Thanks. Interesting about the DSC, didn't think of that. I regularly use MDM...hmmm

I run a nitto invo 305/25/20 (10.5" ET25) in the rear with no rubbing. A 305 semi would be great, but doubt any apex + 305 semi combo would fit.

Slicer, I could be wrong, but it actually looks like a 305/35 or 295/35 is too tall? It's about 1" more diameter than the 275/35

The OEM M3 tire sizes are larger diameter in the rear relative to the front by about 0.6". A 305/35/18 is the exact same diameter as the OEM rear (275/35/18 is the same diameter as the OEM front). See below.

245/40/18 - 25.7" diameter - OEM Front -
265/35/18 - 25.3" diameter
275/35/18 - 25.7" diameter

265/40/18 - 26.3" diameter - OEM Rear -
295/30/18 - 25.0" diameter
285/35/18 - 25.9" diameter
295/35/18 - 26.1" diameter
305/35/18 - 26.3" diameter

There's room for the 295/30-18 Hoosier in front as well. It's a little taller but not much wider than the 285/30 so you get a little but better wear but no more difficult to fit than the 285

Eddy, do you think I could fit a 305/35 on your 18 x10.5 ET27 or the 18 x11 ET25? I think the 10.5" might work, but might be too narrow for a comp 305 sidewall.
