The throttle plate is small and short. No chance of Heel-toe without a modification.

Waaaay too much flake in that paint...gross. As for CTS-V wagon, I saw it at the auto show and love it. Who doesn't love a ZR1 powered, rear drive, six speed manual wagon?

I have to say, after having my father's 2011 CTS-V sedan for a week, I'm not impressed. He has the regular seats, not the Recaros and it's an automatic. But so much of the car just isn't that great. The transmission is just awful, plain and simple. The GM navigation isn't very helpful, there's no Bluetooth, the iPod adapter is the worst I've ever used, the seats are not bolstered enough for me and make my back hurt, and the suspension, whether in Touring or Sport, is just crap. But the worst thing of all for me is the steering wheel. It's SO awful. It's the worst thing I've ever wrapped my dick beaters around. It's great when flying through a corner, but driving down the highway there's so much tire noise that I just get shitty headaches.
I say, set the car on fire and start from scratch. It's ridiculously fast in a straight line, and not too shabby in the corners. As fun as it may be when that LSA motor is at full bore, I found myself getting tired of the car. The things it does right: Brakes, power, steering input/sensitivity, suspension through corners. All else, not that great.

So you're saying you're on the fence about it? I don't really care about nav and the other stuff, maybe different rubber can solve the road noise (I can see how that would be annoying), Recaro seats sound like a necessity and I would only get the 6-speed. That would hopefully leave all of the other stuff it does right.
Sounds like I just should go drive one and see for myself, but was hoping to find a 6 around somewhere.

One of my good friends has a '10 CTS-V sedan. His is an auto (which I wouldn't get, personally) but I personally think this is a great car. Last September we took a road trip (~14hrs both ways) to Warsaw, IN to go to www.wait4meperformance.com and he had some cool stuff done to the car. For the amount that some of us spend on an exhaust and CF diffuser, he had porting, heads, and other things to yield him 640 rwhp. The car is an absolute beast. He jokes that he'd beat me until the first corner if we were racing, but the thing handles great, too. It's an american car for sure, but I have some respect for it. Remember that the guy that did our E60 M5 developed the CTS-V and he wanted to build a car that would beat our beloved bimmers. Does the CTS-V not still hold the nurburgring record for a sedan?
We are going to do a photoshoot together this summer so I'll be sure to link some pics to this thread if you guys are interested.

Ah, thanks for the info. I personally can't get past the looks of the Panamera so it is forever off my radar.

But ultimately, it's your buy with your money. As a former car salesman, I always tell people, if you're happy with it and you think it was money well spent, then it was a great deal.

I saw it in person on a couple different occasions. However, the cts seems to have way too much boring space between the back window and rear of the car. I agree that the e92 could use a little work in the same area, but it's not near as bad as bad and something I could def. live with...just my opinion.

At the end of the day, I'm just a car lover not a brand whore. Would love to try another great car in this class if its worth it to me. Just need to figure that out!

I used to have to drive my father's CTS and then his V a lot before I got my M3. I'd driven the M3 on numerous occasions, but never as often as I drove a CTS or CTS-V. That's just a little background so I don't sound too biased. Like I said, if you find the right car that suits you, then it's the right deal, ya know? Sorry, I wasn't trying to sound like a dick, and hopefully I didn't. I'm just VERY much an asshole, hahaha.

interesting thread
I've been looking for a replacement for my e46 since my family outgrew my M3...I posted threads on the forums I typically post on asking for opinions on an e90 ZCP vs. a V wagon:
http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=349156 http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...754&highlight= I was pleasantly surprised w/ re: the positive feedback on the V wagon! Anyhow, I've been looking to order the Caddy but the factory has shut down production on '11s & '12s won't be available until mid-to-late August I've been spending more time here over the last several days & am getting more tempted by an e90 ZCP in Silverstone or LMB!

I already decided to replace my wifes 3 series with the V Coupe. Huge bang for the buck. Then I am going to make her drive my X5M as her DD and beat the crap out of the V going to work every day. Wish I could drive the F-car to work, but it is too over the top for most folks there. CTS-V FTW.......Steve

The V wagon seems good on paper, and the auto rags praise it, but you better drive one first. Earlier in this thread I wrote a review.
I don't think its good at all. I'd rather have a stock X5 than the V wagon. |

you are not that far from our dealership, i can take care of you if you want a CTS-V. we can pick you up at the airport and you can drive it back or we can deliver it to you as well. or rent a car and drive up and drop it off by us and drive back your V. we have alot of clients that are out of state that we do delivery's for or pick them up and they take a road trip home
if you want one just pm me with your contact and i will take care of you. or if you decide to go with a different dealership let me look at the numbers first before you pull the trigger so i can make sure you get a good deal H Quote:
