Trading Z4 (E89) for M3 (E92)?

Stumbled across the following car when just browsing:

http://www.blocket.se/jonkoping/Bmw_....htm?ca=15&w=3
(400,000.00 SEK = 62,937.61 USD)

Would you think it crazy to trade my BMW Z4 sDrive23i -2011 for this -2010 M3? I am going to call the dealer and ask how much he want between. If it aint to much I might go for it. If it is below 6000-6500USD I might consider.

Am I just crazy or do you think its a good idea? Anything I should know/check about the 2010 E92 before purchasing?

I would trade your Z4 in a heartbeat. Non-M Z4 and not the 35is either. The M3 will be a much better experience IMO. I am a former owner of a 2007 Z4MC and loved that car but the E92 M3 is just so updated to me and at the time I got a great deal so traded in my Z4 for an E92. Well worth it aside from poor gas mileage but I would do it over again, regardless of that.

I say do it! You wont regret it.

Thanks for your input. Yeah the difference in power between the two cars is massive. However I did buy the Z4 more as a "cruiser". What does disturb me somewhat, more than I imagined, is that I have only two seats. I really want a car now that can bring people, if needed. And I do think this white E92 M3 is so f-in beautiful. It would be my dream car with a few added touches like black rims, and black front and rear spoiler, led angel eye upgrade and of course the rear light LCI option. We'll see how it goes. Lets see how much they are willing to give for my Z4..

Is there anything in particular in the 2010 E92 (M3) model that I should look for, or be concerned about?

I hear you. The E89 is more updated than the E86M but the power of the E92 M3 is a bit more as well.

White is a sweet color. I say go for it.

Not too sure about 2010 but it is pretty updated aside from the LCI options.

Yeah, I know that came out wrong. I mean, would it be crazy to trade a car I only bought one year ago, with a more expensive (and one year older) car. I mean it's a pretty wild idea.

Just trying to think economically. But then again, that is hard looking at a car like this

You've got one foot out the door on the Z4. Ditch that thing and get the M3.

Economically, it's never a good move to change a car after only one year, but only you know your financial situation!

On the other hand, the E9x M3 is a very reliable car that you're gonna fall in love with if you buy one, you're gonna want to keep it for a long time and that could be a good move, financially and sentimentally!

Well I called the dealer and it seems I'm going on a little (140kilometer) road trip this friday He accepted the trade in and I'll have to put in about 9000$ between. Not decided yet. It really is a toy, but what a lovely toy it is Really looking forward to seeing and driving this car.

I've been crunching the numbers and of course the insurance is going to double to my Z4. I guess fuel consumption will too. Trying to find the service intervals for a car like this, and what the costs would average on those. This is Sweden, so any Swedish members please come forward with your experiences with this. Would be much appreciated.

Yeah the M3 is a great toy but it's not only that, its also one of the best daily driver so don't worry, you'll have plenty for your money! My BMW dealership told me to change the oil only once a year!
