Do I need centering rings for Volks
I bought a set of TE-37s but didn't get hub centric rings. Do I need them and if so what size and who has them? I'm having trouble finding any solid information on this issue.

As long as you bought 5x120 bolt pattern TE37, you shouldn't need any centering rings.

The wheels being 5x120 has nothing to do with the wheels being hubcentric. If the wheel inner bore is larger, then that means the wheels are being mounted lug-centric, and will be prone to vibration. Use the proper sized hubring adaptors at all times if the wheels are already not hubcentric.

For example, the CE28N I had on my car required the centering rings, while the TE37SL did not. |

I just mounted the wheels and went for a drive and it definitely needs centering rings.

If the wheel was mounted properly, you should not have felt a vibration, even without the rings. Not to say you shouldn't use them, but the lug bolts center themselves at each hole, so if each bolt is fully engaged at the proper torque, the wheel is centered. I have a compact spare wheel with an oversize bore that I have used without a ring, and it works fine.

Tire Rack has the adaptor rings. PM Ben or call him to get info. You will need to know the pilot diameter of the wheels that you have in order to get the correct adaptor rings.

i have RE30s and when went over 70mph i noticed the steering having some vibrations.
i called the place i bought the wheels from and it turned out i needed rings to make them sit correctly. The rings are very thin, but this small difference still created enough vibrations. I tried everything written on the forum however it did not work. I called Rennspec and they helped me out. you ask the shop where u bought it from as they should be knowledgable in this area. I believe any of the big shops can help you out as long as you know the center bore. good luck it is annoying to figure this out and expensive(balancing). i was lucky when hoisted the car up and loosened the wheel a bit i noticed it had some play. |

I'm guessing you've only seen Super Laps then. We've seen both SL and non-SL come through our facility, and every non-SL TE37 had centering rings on them. |

The terminology is a bit loose, but centering Ring = hubcentric rings.
