Stock weighted shift knob?
I tried searching so forgive me if I overlooked it somewhere, but does anyone know if they make a weighted version of our stock shift knob?
I really like the look and feel of the stock shifter in my hand but just wish it had weight to it... Thanks |

There’s not a heavier version of the stock gooseneck, f10M5 is your best bet.
There’s two versions of the m performance shift knobs from the f30 that aren’t bad just a bit smaller. |

There isn’t one with a unified knob/boot. HOWEVER, if you want the stock length and feel, the E46 M3 performance shift knob is what you want. This is the one that BMW provided with the “Performance SSK,” which was a big markup on a 330d shift lever.
Here’s a link: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-3...ttern/?pdk=AQE This is my favorite shift knob. I’m not really a fan of the ZHP knob as the shape isn’t quite right, and the metal ring can be annoying (and looks dumb).

I have the ZHP knob paired with a Coby alcantara boot in my M5.
Love it. Great feel and I personally like the looks. Definitely has more substance than the stock shifter. Swapping the base out isn't hard at all. If you don't want to do that you can buy one on eBay. |

And yes, you have to cut your boot or another one to run it. Note that it is not illuminated, if that matters to you.

F10 M5 knob, basically an illuminated ZHP knob. Surgery is not difficult, just time consuming. I think it looks great.

BMW M offered a 6-speed manual gearbox as a no-cost option exclusively for F10 M5s sold in North America. A total of 577 were produced, including 17 pre-production cars. Source: https://bmwmregistry.com/model_faq.php?id=54 The F10 M5 knob is a very popular swap, not only in the E9X M3 community, but across other BMW models as well. BMW is probably wondering where all of their replacement knobs are going lol

Could try this ghetto method...
I wrapped a 1lb coil of 1/4" lead (from either walmart fishing section or home depot) around the lever. It was a huge improvement and I left it on for a while until my much heavier UUC knob finally arrived. Last edited by Bartledoo; 03-06-2019 at 12:25 AM.. |

I have an F10 M5 shift knob that I'll be taking off on Friday. I can let it go for cheap if you want. It's already glued to the stock base clips and you can have it as is. All I ask is for your stock base plate/clips (can remove the stock knob/boot).
