Pricing of the New M3 around the world?

Rule of thumb...for those that care. BMW Mil sales priced the '05 e46 M3 coupe at $44k MSRP which is 10% less than factory MSRP of $49k. So you're looking at 10% off MSRP solid price with no ability to haggle or deal on it due to the savings for being active duty mil/overseas/deployed which is necessary to meet the program constraints and place an order.

I've got an order in for their available allocations and have been given an estimated MSRP from BMW NA on my signed purchase order of $49500. So assuming marketing and costs will flow as they always have before at 10% discount for BMW mil sales to military members...I'd assume to expect a US MSRP around $54-56k!

I mean they want to seel cars guys/gals...and all the $60-65k prices you see in these tested models in Road & Track, etc are probably for fully optioned US cars. Pricing it too north of $55k-60k gets into 650i and 997 territory and they would loose sales to those vehicles if you're starting the e92 out at MSRP of $62k...it'd be almost $70k with options and for that you can get a nice base 997 coupe with light options at about $75-76k that will beat the M3 in alot of categories....

I thought we were the only ones getting screwed. Good to see other governments are taking the piss also and we are not alone with crazy tax laws.
I am collecting one in jan 08 and with a few options it is costing €115,000.
But i cant help myself...

Just a little change in the Japan price.

I personally think that BMW is waiting for all the prices for the competitors to be announced and then crunching numbers to decide how much money they can sell the M3 for without losing money.
Lexus IS-F Mid to upper $50K
Nissan GT-R Upper $60K, Lower $70K
Benz C63 Mid $60K
Audi RS4 Mid $60K

Historically, M3 has been cheaper than the Audi and Benz so I think in order to protect it's market share, BMW will have to price it at $60K +/- $3K. The big wildcards are the two new Japanese cars. Lexus maybe willing and can afford to sell its IS-F even cheaper due to the cheap Yen. I am willing to bet that they must sell the IS-F atleast $5K less than an M3 Sedan. Also the GT-R is priced right at $70K in Japan with the current exchange rates and could dip its price even lower if it wants to steal market share. The Japanese cars, especially the GT-R priced at 50,000 Euros are going to give BMW, Mercedes and Porsche dealers alot of heartburn in Europe. The currency upheaval, especially if it continues as predicted is going to change the automotive market.

I love BMW's and the E90 M3 will be my next car but if I can get a great deal on a GT-R / IS-F / C63.... I and other potential M3 buyers might be tempted.
