Z4 gets launch mode simplified

Anyone see how they made launch mode simpler in the dct option by just pressing brake and accelerator at the same time and then releasing the brake at a given rpm. Still think it's a little overpriced for a Z4.

I don't see that mentioned in the article - did I just miss it?

IMHO, that is not necessarily a better way of engaging LC. For me, using my left foot to press the brake pedal is not natural. Also, there has been some debate on this, but apparently it is possible to brake-torque an M-DCT M3 so you could do a two footed launch if you really wanted to (I personally wouldn't).

BTW, the claim in the article about this being the second DCT BMW is wrong. You can get an E92/E93 335i with M-DCT today, just not in the US.

You can get an E92/E93 335i with DCT, not M-DCT. If I'm not mistaken...

Very true. I typed it as I intended in the first sentence, but not the second. I am so used to typing "M-DCT" that I did it by habit.

Yes, it's discussed on page 2, paragraph 2.
