OEM plugs are these exact NGKs with BMW rebranding. ~8k miles on mine so far, no issues. |

OEM. Don't take the chance. I don't get people who complain about the price... if you don't no what your getting into when you by a BMW (Let alone an M3) don't buy it. Just did mine in my 09 e92 M3, and wouldn't even think about anything else, but OEM.

Just use the NGK ones, they have the identical part number to the one BMW uses. In fact, when I did mine and took out the originals, they didn't even have the BMW logo on them. They are exactly the same.

When people say OEM for an item like this I never really understand.
BMW does not manufacture spark plugs. BMW manufactures some parts, but not everything on a vehicle. They outsource certain parts to other specialty vendors like Spark Plugs, Tires, Rims, Radiators, etc. This is a different scenario than saying "I want an OEM bumper vs an aftermarket bumper." There is a definite superior part in quality and function in this example. In this case, the spark plugs linked are the EXACT same as the ones that BMW sells. They are BOTH OEM plugs. One is just much more expensive because of BWM markup.

When I said OEM I thought it was understood that I meant the spark plug used by BMW not necessarily bought from BMW.

If people like to get their parts and service from bmw dealers, let them. I can't afford to, but there is nothing wrong with the parts or service.

It isn't like there is a lot of aftermarket plugs for the S65, search or use sparkplugs.com to get an idea.

ugh rockauto. nice prices, but they've sent me wrong parts too many times.
and come to think of it, amazon vendors have done the switcharoo on item brands with me as well. |
