Someone hit my parked M3
Hey lads I’m new here I just bought my first e92 about 2 months ago. Sad day today, I pay for parking in Boston and someone decided to scratch the shit outta my front bumper and not leave a note or anything. Tracking em down through security cameras but might be a while. Was just wondering what to ask him for when I find him? I’m assuming I need a full bumper replacement since the scrape is pretty deep and obviously I want to go through bmw for this to retain value.
No dents though it seems the paint is just fucked on first glance. which is nice but what’s the move here? Repaint with bmw or full replacement? I can’t upload from my phone but I’ll throw some photos up when I’m home at my computer. |

You just need paint. The bumper scratch can be fixed with minimul work. Not really a big deal outside of the duecheyness of the person that damaged your property. Typical behavior these days.

By retain value do you mean keep a clean title?

If you get a new bumper look into the Euro style ones without the reflectors……but you may just want to repaint it. Another option is to have the reflector holes filled before the repaint on the current bumper.
Don’t fret about it, get it fixed and drive the car. |

Just repaint. It is not a big deal. Bumper suffers from rock chips so repaint is quite common thing with bumper. Personally I would not go with BMW I would try to find a reputable paint shop (price and also quality) but if you want to go with BMW then go with BMW they will do a good job as well. You may also consider to wrap the bumper with protection film after painting because sooner or later there will be rock chips. Also note that the bumper is plastic so there are usually no dents as in metal and moreover it is difficult to find out if the bumper has been repainted because it is not metal and majority of paint thickness gauges work only with metal. So don't worry, it sucks but it is an easy fix and once finished your M3 will be even more beautiful than before
