Some M3 color combinations

Here are the color combinations I am considering. I currently drive a silver/black combo, so those colors are out for me. Hard to decide here. I like White/Red, Silverstone/Grey, Graphite/Gray. What do you think?

I have a black/red combo at teh moment but going for white/red on my M3. The black looks great but jeez is it a bitch to look after, I just havent got the time or inclination to be spending so much effort on my next car.

Spark Graph baby!

Not a lot of people will be getting this color but if you're use to silver you will like this color a LOT....... Especially with Fox Red or Black interior....

Why is black so hard to take care of? I was thinking white would be difficult to keep clean...

Black is very, very easy to end up with swirls (that are easily seen) if you dont clean it properly and very carefully.

I use a porter cable these days, the effort of caring for a black audi and a black merc by hand on a weekly basis nearly killed me ;-)

White is actually pretty easy to take care of. It can go a while without showing minor dirt as much as the darker colors. A perfect poish is less critical, too. Of course, it's not as dramatic as a well-cared for black car, but I will never have black again.

agreed. a freshly-detailed white car, doesn't strike as vibrantly as a black one. but they do manage to stay cleaner looking in the long run. that's the trade-off, i guess.

Alpine White and Silverstone Silver seem to highlight the CF roof more than other colours like red/blue. Jerez Black hides the CF roof actually unless we go so near and poke our noses on the car. Well we are gonna pay for this expensive CF roof why it has to stand out

AW for me

My First E46 M3 was silver and i only needed to wash it once every 3 weeks. It always looked clean. My second M3 was a carbon black one. Looked absolutely AWESOME when clean and polished but.... one trip up the road and it needed washing again!
Just can't make up my mind what colour to go for on my new one. Probably going to be silverstone or the graphite.

white on black ... somehow with the darker colours the detail is lost of the CF roof ... even though my prev M was black. Anyone ever mistake a black M3 CSL for the ordinary M3 ... i did a few times, esp since mine had the CSL wheel on it ...

White as ext. color for sure because it makes the carbon roof stand out more.
But if you are lazy go for Silverstone. I think those are the two nicest ext colors. The red looks ugly in real life doesnt do the car any good trust me.

Although not being a fan of red colors, I can't agree on that point. The Red looks absolutely stunning in real life. It's a real head turner! Maybe we had different light conditions!?

Best regards, south

I spec'd my M3 at a dealer 3 weeks ago, originally planning an interlagos and fox red combination, but the dealer said this would adversely affect residuals and recommended I went for blue/black which I tentatively have.
What does everyone else think ? I'm having second thoughts now and will probably change when the build slots come through.

I think your dealer is spot on. I think the superman (blue and red) looks terrible. Blue and black is a better bet. I want red leathers so I'm torn between the blacks or sparkling graphite. Interlagos blue is a really nice colour, though.

i think the fox red goes well with white, black, and silverstone only. red/graphite, i'd have to see in person. the problem with the graphic i posted above is that it does not show any tint the windows, which is very unnatural. the flash application on the main BMW website does a better job with the tint and reflections. regardless, this is all computer generated stuff, and it is really hard to tell...and given they won't be shipping tens of thousands of M3s in a rush, i don't think we'll be seeing most of the combinations in person for at least a couple years, so some of the people who order right away might be in for a slight surprise when they see their cars for real.

black or carbon rims would look good on the white, but what's up with the white stripe on the wheels?

It is, i took those alloys from a site selling alloys, they looked silver till I distorted them and now look more white.

I got a U in Art wayback when 'O' Levels existed, no suprise eh

Im not a fan of all black rims myself, prefer a polished edge, I feel all blacks blend in too much.

Carbon rims would look great, question is, which ones and where from?
