Where to go for complete brake job?

Hi: I have a 2009 E92 M3 that needs a complete front/rear brake job. I called around and got a wide range of quotes (OEM parts/labour).

Budds: $2841+tax
Bimmersport: $2530+tax
RPM Motors: $2000+tax

I can understand dealer charging more (ouch), but even independent shops seem to vary a lot.

Just wondering your experience with these places and how much you paid and any other good recommendations?

PS I live in Mississauga.

Thank you.

I haven't heard great things about Budd's service - never been myself, but based on the reviews it would keep me away from there.

RMP I hear is the best, although when I was trying to book a PPI with them when I bought my E85M they wouldn't call/email back so that turned me off. That said if I was looking for specialist work (rod bearings, VANOS, etc.) I'd still go to them based on reputation alone.

For anything I can't do myself, I've used White Eagle Motors (in Mississauga); very fair prices and Jakub is a great guy and very knowledgeable. I don't hesitate to recommend them to anybody.

Ive been using RMP for 10 years now and i highly reccomend them. Its a busy place so you must be patient. Rocco's knowledge and work is hard to replicate.

Brakes on this M is super easy. I've done brakes a wide range of cars and this is one of the easiest. Is time or space an issue where you can't knock it out yourself?

+1
DIY. Honestly speaking, it can be done on your own driveway or garage.

I would say DIY if you can, brakes are easy tbh. I only take mine to RMP, Rocco knows what hes doing. Wouldn't trust many other mechs. Also taking it to an Indy shop I am not sure the labor is what makes this expensive.. the parts (Rotors especially) cost alot so not sure how much you'd be saving DIYing.

Rotors are not cheap. Price out the parts and you’ll see why it cost so much.

Try Stance Factory in Ajax if you are looking for somewhere out east.

hawk pads which i also supplied were $300+tax

Contact Jay@StanceFactory.com

I'm pretty sure they can do better than both those quotes. Otherwise, DIY.
