Kw V3 VS. KW CS
Hello my track junkies!
Does anyone have first hand experience between the two? What makes the CS coilovers a better system overall? I would like to possibly go 1.8" low in front and 1.8" in rear or so. Is it worth the change? I want to run the cs with rd sway bars. Thx! |

If looking for just a drop - the V3s are just fine.
If you serious about tracking your M3, get the ClubSports.

I think 1.8" is too low for either system to work optimally for track use. One of the major differences is that the CS runs linear springs, compared to a progressive spring.

Very balanced shocks. Comfortable for DD, and good for light track use too. It's good improve over stockers, but still far from superb.
Since I'm planing to give the M3 to my gf, I would probably keep the V3. Otherwise, I would get either Moton or JRZ in a heartbeat. |

V3s that come from the factory have springs that are too soft for serious track use. I dont remember the spring rate but i know that its not much higher than stock ones. I have v3 coils on my 135i and was not happy with their performance on the track. Too much body roll. There is Swift conversion kit available that comes with linear springs and thrust sheets. The good thing about this kit is you can choose any spring rate you want and they are linear that are more appropriate for the track. Thrust sheets allow the spring to smoothly rotate around the perch during compression. This will enable the load of the spring to be more evenly distributed. I tested this set up a few days ago at WGI and was very impressed.

Hey guys thanks for the comments. Im looking for a car I can drive on the roads (my car is not a daily driver) when intended, and enjoy my time on the track. I will track about 5 times a year or so starting this summer.
Ive had a e46 m3 with JIC coils, and that suspension was crazy! |
