It's possible that difference could be slightly greater than 500lbs....with the m3/m4 weighing over 3700lbs and the base C7 coming closer to 3200.

damn you chevy. just like the new 991 seems that the c7 has eclipsed or at least can rival the outgoing big dog with a base model, ie 991 vs 997 gt3 and c7 vs c6 z06. just read the march car and driver about the new vette. looks to be a serious player. how dare they make me want a vette. my wish list is still 1. gt3 2. z06 3. new m3 but in all likelyhood the gt3 is least practical and most expensive to modify maintain and probably still gets beat on track by well driven c7. what to do!

it could happen. and if a slightly used base c7(couple years down the road)is on performance level with a previous z06 seems like a no brainer to get the new model and have all the extra features.

Solid move. I'm with you. That's how I ended up with the m3...stupid test drive while getting car appraised at carmax. I didn't buy that one but knew I had to find a way to get an m3 asap afterwards.

I already don't know how long how I can hold off on the c7. Hopefully after the big markups come down at least.

The current M3 weighs that much. Why wouldn't the new M3\M4 weigh less?

If the M4 ends up looking substantially like this, I'm all over it.
ALMS, according to BMW insider SCOTT26, this render is about 97% correct with the exception of the wheels and side mirrors.
I can't wait!

With BMW these days, I'll believe it, when I see it. They've been making pigs lately. If it ends up weighing less, great. If not, nothing new.

LOL, you can read right? Trying searching the forum on what the projected plan is for the new M4. This information is brought to us by BMW insiders and some interviews with BMW ///M staff.
The denial is strong with the doubters
