I don't think you're allowed to. That is, the manufacturer is not supposed to have a way for you to disable it. But maybe if you dig around the innards of the car you might be able to find a wire or fuse or something. Good luck.

search through e90post.com forums. this topic has been discussed to the death. also, whenever someone brings this up, the flame war begins when somebody asks "why would you ever want to disable a safety feature?" and then people say a bunch of stupid things. anyway, if i remember correctly, there is a fuse that can disable it, but somebody said that doing so will interfere with the proper operation of the airbags. that ding is a serious pain in the ass, but i think you should just work to get used to it....

Just get a spare seat belt buckle and stick it into the seatbelt latch. Otherwise, can the passenger side seatbelt reach over to the driver's latch? If so put that in...

What about the dog?

The most annoying thing for me about this is that when I take our dog in the car she's just heavy enough to trigger the alarm Also, if I throw some grocery shopping on the passenger seat, same result. Very annoying ...

Not a good idea--the deployment speed (and force?) of the airbag is adjusted if the driver is wearing a seatbelt. If you were to drive and get in an accident with a false seatbelt indication the bag would not deploy quickly enough or with enough force.

wow i just posted an answer to the exact same question in another thread... just use a seatbelt extension like this. cut off the part you dont need and stick the buckle part into the slot. it will shut the car up.
