Spoiler delete option. Who's doing it?

I think it's ugly. Are there really any rear downforce benefits under normal driving conditions? I can imagine such a small spoiler can only produce truly effective downforce at obscene speeds even beyond what is beneficial at the track. Stability at speeds in excess of 140-150 mph and that's about it. But on fast sweepers and even the fastest of turns slightly over 100mph, I don't think this lame lip spoiler does anything. Correct me if I'm wrong. Otherwise, I say delete.

If I go with the M3, the spoiler delete is an option I will be considering. I may just see how it looks on there, and delete it myself later if I see a few without it and like the look. It's just held on with adhesives anyways, right?

As far as its usefulness, I think it is useful in making the M3 boot lid look different from the standard car.

The spoiler is not for downforce, but drag and lift reduction. It is effective at highway speeds and above to slightly increase mileage and stability. The underlying principal was discovered by Italian aerodynamacist Henri Coanda and it's called the Coanda Effect. You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coand%C4%83_effect.

It's a pretty minor element, and if BMW engineers think it's useful, I'll keep it.

I'm liking this idea, how much did the CSL trunk cost on the e46?

Replicas are $1,200+ not including painting or installation. OEM parts are almost impossible to get unless you own a CSL. I doubt we'll se one for the E92 until BMW releases it first.

I don't think its ugly or useless. I just prefer to leave it off.
