Spoiler delete option. Who's doing it?
I think it's ugly. Are there really any rear downforce benefits under normal driving conditions? I can imagine such a small spoiler can only produce truly effective downforce at obscene speeds even beyond what is beneficial at the track. Stability at speeds in excess of 140-150 mph and that's about it. But on fast sweepers and even the fastest of turns slightly over 100mph, I don't think this lame lip spoiler does anything. Correct me if I'm wrong. Otherwise, I say delete.

If I go with the M3, the spoiler delete is an option I will be considering. I may just see how it looks on there, and delete it myself later if I see a few without it and like the look. It's just held on with adhesives anyways, right?
As far as its usefulness, I think it is useful in making the M3 boot lid look different from the standard car. Last edited by RandyB; 10-26-2007 at 09:06 AM.. |

Spoiler

It's a pretty minor element, and if BMW engineers think it's useful, I'll keep it.

CSL trunk (boot) lid
Replicas are $1,200+ not including painting or installation. OEM parts are almost impossible to get unless you own a CSL. I doubt we'll se one for the E92 until BMW releases it first.
