It looks like many components will be hand built http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_GT-R according to Wikipedia (sorry, I know this is not the best reference material).

If production is indeed limited to 1000 cars a month for the entire world, then it will be hard to get these without paying a premium...

Umm, basically all car magazines use the GPS based acceleration meters.
Prior to that, they used radar guns and/or 5th wheels that were suction cupped to the side of the car.

The VBox that consumers can buy for $499 is a basic model of the same thing.
The ones the car mags use are now only about $2500+ and have a lot more technical data to them (braking times and distances, skidpad g forces ,etc etc)

If you really thought car magazines got their times at dragstrips with timing lights, well you need a LONG overdue reality check, sorry.

The funniest thing about the Edmunds article is them saying the ZO6 is way slower with 1/4 mile ET's of 12's and traps of only 120 mph.

Umm, did the Edmunds editor have his 18 year old daughter test the ZO6??

The ZO6 traps at 125-127 mph and owners are getting low 11's with them, one getting a 10.9 on a stock car.

And can you imagine if the ZO6 had the traction of the GT-R off the line??

I thought the same thing when I read that, maybe he's thinking of a C5 Z06 because no one else that has tested the C6 Z06 got those type of crappy times. The GT-R may be faster 0-60 by .2-.3 but the Z06 has caught it or passed it by the end of the 1/4.

GM just raised the bar today anyway...

This is insane... they've really tweaked the car in every aspect to make use of the power. I thought this whole time it was using a V8, but its actually a TTV6??

The procede guys have a lot of work ahead of you to catch up... and the E9x M3 better be getting some boost in the HP too...

I was praising the GTR for being that quick even after it's weight disadvantage. I was just stating the reason behind it..Anyway, dont flame me, I am a GTR fan.

Looks matter.
Purity matters.
Speed matters.
Feel matters.

The GT-R is certainly missing a few that the 911 has, though the 911 is slower. Two ton "sports cars" 4tl.

Great looking car, much smaller then I thought it was and was amazed that it weighed 3900+ pounds.

Took these tonight.
