I guess that, if you want to hear the engine tune in full surround sound driving with the top down, you need to be willing to pay the convertible price

Tell them you won't take it unless it's 1000 over invoice; at the very least 1500.
A few weeks ago, I did test them on the price, and their answer was, “this was a special order and we are NOT discounting it. If you don’t want it we will just put it in the showroom and it will move.” I said “who in the hell is going to buy a YELLOW M3, and even pay $5000 more to boot.” They will not sell that for quite a while…

I was thinking on hinging the deal by making them throw in the Extended Warranty, the Extended Maintenance, and the Tire Warranty. Yeah right, that totals about 8K.

Any help with my negotiations would be helpful. I have about a week or so before it comes in.

P.S, keep in mind that I purchased at 135i from them less than a year ago!

That's a $3k less MSRP car, and that's an ED.

Almost the same car, but not the same car, which makes a difference, even if not too big. The biggest difference though is that the car you mentioned is an european delivery so you are not comparing apples to apples here...

It is strange that multiple people have used all sorts or unreasonable (and sometimes false) arguments to try to make me fell bad about my purchase. First time I see this around here as typically people congratulate you and welcome you to the "family"...

All this back-and-forth actually convinced me that I got a great deal: $510 over invoice (if you count waived floor mats and inspection) with 3.9% financing on a 2011 convertible which will be delivered in a week, as opposed to 8! Nothing wrong with tracking ship location and wondering what the hell is going on with the preparation center that doesn't released my car, but I am happy I won't have to do this and I guess it is hard to put a price tag on that.

If the final price on my car is "too high", it is because we are talking about a fully loaded convertible. Comparing the price to a lesser equipped car, a base model coupe or an european delivery is just nonsense...

I am a CA. I tried telling these folks that you got a great deal. Just ignore the negativity and enjoy your new car. Everyone always has a comment to make, and almost all the time its a foolish comment. They think we CA's are out to clobber you "the customer" and make a killing. I hate that way of thinking. We are here to help.

Enjoy.

I think this is a very reasonable price, that might be because I paid the same.

Not one to throw money away, but I'm past the point of grinding every penny out of the deal. 6 to 7 percent off on a car like this is fair. The dealer does need to make a buck too. As I got this price with zero haggling it was also a pleasant experience. Years ago, I might have felt "taken" if the deal hadn't taken four days of back and forth, etc. Life is too short for that stuff now.

Congrats on your car. You are correct that the comparisons others have made are apples to oranges. Your deal is a good one - looking forward to seeing your car!

I know it has been a few months, but I was looking through threads trying to find info on the auto high beams, and came across this. It's one of the more bizarre threads I've found, someone pretty much being attacked for getting a decent deal. I'm not sure what they were trying to prove. Looks like you got your M3, hope you're enjoying it.

First congrats on your car. What I don't understand why not 1.9 or .09 percent. Why are you getting 3.9 percent.

Because this was back in May. Guess BMWFS was not offering the 0.9 or 1.9 rates yet...

Your deal is just fine. You got a good deal. I paid invoice, but I am friends with one of the owners. By the way, you will love Interlagos. I have IB/BB on my vert and it just pops. I especially love the color in direct sunlight.

Again, I would love to go back to the dealer and get a couple of thousand dollars off the price before delivery, but so far you guys are not really making a lot of sense. Or maybe I am just too dumb to understand the math you guys are doing...
WOW! thanks. i didnt know this tool existed. quick question tho, do they do around 1000 over invoice for custom built cars too? or is haggling to just over 1000 invoice reserved just for cars in the lot? thanks in advance.
