replacing tires during winter..3 times so far..
Iv had my car for over a year now and so far since October, Iv replaced both rear tires because every day they would show low pressure even after putting in air. For the past week or so, my rear right tire has begun throwing low pressure warnings again. Now I know it is most likely because of the air pressure differences that happen in Winter, but none of my families other cars nor my old 328xi had this "issue." I have the tire warranty so I don't mind doing multiple replacements but is this something I should expect every winter? And should I bother changing tires or just keep putting in air and pray for spring to start already
PS-the tires are continentals for ZCP rims.

Can I ask my dealer for tires from a different brand under the warranty?
Lol I don't have space to store tires so unfortunately I can't purchase winter tires. And no, I'd just get annoyed of the low pressure sign popping up everyday and sometimes multiple times a day, even after filling in air. Also, besides the snow storm NY had last week, weather has consistently been above 40 degrees most days so it's not like it's freezing either. Putting in all those factors, replacing the tires seemed logical.

It's not a sensor issue if the pressure is reduced and your tires require more air. Do you even check the pressure before adding more air? If you keep losing pressure it seems the tire shop would investigate a leak rather than replace tires, warranty or not. None of this makes any sense.

Could be a slow leak from the rim. You tire could be perfectly fine. if your rims were slightly bent( you won't be able to tell the difference from just looking at it) you could have a slow leak..quite normal if you lived in the area filled with pothole.. the guys who mount your tires should be able to tell you, cause they will know when they put the tire on.

I was gonna say maybe you have a cracked/bent wheel... Happened to me with my old 335i.. Tire wouldn't hold air; turns out the wheel was cracked.

I was thinking of first having them check out the rim and if its the problem, fix it and then replace the air with nitrogen after.

I got that message once last year but not this year yet. Weather has been fairly warm so not sure the temp change here has been enough to cause the pressure signal to show low. Could be something else like the sensor or leak. Did you check if you have a nail in the tire?

I know someone mention TPMS, but did you have the valve stem and rubber grommet checked? They are about $10 for each TPMS. That's typically where you will get a leak if you don't have any holes in your tire.

My winter set has been leaking - turns out there was corrosion on rim, probably due to salt. Had to have the tires removed, rim edges cleaned up and remount. There's likely nothing wrong with your tires, but you either have messed up rims due to bending or corrosion. Yes, aluminum corrodes.
