Leather in upper part of dash?

Just looking around on cars.com and found something interesting

Why is the upper part of the dash wrapped in leather? Maybe custom upholstery ?

Yes and they did a terrible job !

From what i know EL pack doesnt include the upper part of dash but just to make sure.

Not a fan of the execution.

Although I really wish BMW would actually include leather wrapped dash with extended leather!

Yes and they did a terrible job !

Its a bmw Individual(ly done at home in my garage) option.

This is a terrible job but leather looks much better when done OEM.

My e60 M5 has an oem extended dash leather and it looks great with really sharp and straight edges. It does class up the cabin and I wish they would offer it on the M3
