Who is making good stuff these days?

I'm thinking about replacing some speakers in one of my other vehicles and was wondering who you guys think is making good separates these days? I don't wanna know about break the bank kinda stuff but stuff that retails in the area of $500 or less.

The problem is not only what audio speakers are good.. it's what speakers fit in the stock locations. The mounting points for the BMW door speakers are very unique and most 4" speakers do not fit without an adapter. I don't know if anyone still makes these.

Oh.. I'd like the 2nd the Focals in that case. They sound excellent and you can sometimes find deals on them online. They sound better with an amp but can run ok on stock power. I had good experience with JL Audio too and much less cost than the Focal. I had a great set of Nakamichi speakers but they don't make them anymore - very clear highs. MB Quart has very good highs as well.

Rainbow is another that you can't do wrong, and they have plenty of lines to fit your budget.
