Transmission issue
Hey Guys.
I currently own a 2010 e90 6speed and over The past couple of weeks i have been heading this weird noise coming out of The transmission when the car is not in gear. When in neutral it males this clunky sound as with the flywheel is clipping another piece if mental. Anyway, I wad Also hearing a thumping sound coming from the front right tire so I decided to bring the car in to the local dealer. It turns out that they are now relacing my entire transmission WTF! Is that the procedure? Have any of you experienced this issue and have had their tranny replaced? I am a bit confused and highly doubt if that will fix the thumping noise it the front right tire. Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks |

Yea you definitely should be bragging about getting your tranni replaced as it sometimes takes quite an effort for many people to get this to happen.
And are you referring to that metal clunky sound that sounds like a screw is like trapped in your muffler? Because on rare occasions I hear that noise-- mostly when coming to a stop and coming out of a gear, or right when I get into the car (when its in neutral). I never understood what that noise was either. Any body else experience that noise? Now I am really wondering. |

I have a weird clunking/thumping when its in neutral with the clutch out. I just assumed that it was a noisy throw out bearing like my 350z used to have ("normal" for 350Zs) but in another thread I was told that it wasn't. Flywheel chatter wouldn't go away when I push the clutch in right?
