M3 Front Bumper Protection
Hello all,
I've been driving my E90 for a few months now and I love it. My only problem is I tend to be a little careless when going in and out of parking lots and I have scraped the front bumper a few times. Other times it is impossible to avoid no matter how slowly or from what angle I approach (one of the pitfalls of living in a truck-centric city like Houston). I know that it is inevitable and it is hard to see unless you are on your knees but I would love to know if there are any options to protect the underside of the bumper. I did see a Saleen Mustang at the car wash and noticed that the part of the bumper that would scrape had been covered in Rhino liner. It actually didn't look too bad compared to scraped paint but I'm sure there are other, less drastic and permanent options. I would love to hear all of your input and thanks in advance. |

you could get a shop to install clear bra sheets on the under side... although this wouldnt protect you from serious scrapes.

This may sound foolish but backing into a space is always gonna be the most surefire way not to kill your bumpers. However, if you must pull in, you can mount a camera in front ($$$) or try some protective film (clear bra) but i think even that will get messed up to (ment more for debris protection). Good luck bro...

NOTHING is going to protect the bumper if you hit it, unless you just graze it. You have to be careful to avoid sharp 'dips' before you even get there. And let me tell you that a stock M3 is not that low due to its short overhang. My Accord coupe scrapes easier, and it looks much taller in the front, but has a HUGE overhang (due to FWD). If you can't back out of one, tackle it at the sharpest angle possible, as previously mentioned. Good luck.

Depending on the color of your car the bed liner can be a decent option if applied well.
I've had a car with it and you would never notice it unless you are washing the car. |
