everyone has ur color you have?

I ordered my 325i in SG. But then i realized that it is gonna be the color most new 3's will have. i wanted my car to be more special. So i told my sales agent i wanted Arctic instead. Then he started talking about resale value and arctic won't be as popular down the road. he also mentioned arctic first came out like ten years ago and bmw discontinued after couple years due to poor demand. So now i changed it back to SG. Do any of you care as much when everyone else has your color?

I purchased Tit silver.. I couldnt decide btw SG and silver, but once i saw both in person, i thought the silver was more my style. Dont get me wrong, i think SG is really nice too, but i agree with what you said- its really popular since its new and in demand. Silver is also REALLY popular, but i chose it cause i think it's much easier to clean, doesnt get really hot, and silver always looks classy. I def want my car to be unique but color is one of those things that unless you get a funky color, most people will have the common ones (black, silver, white, gray..) So to make my silver more unique, im doing my own little details (tints, chrome exhaust, rear spoiler, ..etc).. My dealer also told me i'd get better resale for silver than SG...

We went through the same dilemma with our e90, as every car manufacturer makes a 'dark, dolphin, gun-metal, sparkling, etc.' grey car now. Not likely to be unique in a year or two. I wish cars destined for NA had the same colour palate available in Europe - the colours available on the M3 have always stood out & looked sharp. In any regard... what was available made our decision for us: sapphire black.

Honestly, we're happy we ended up with the sapphire black. It has a ton of dark grey in it when the sun hits it, and is easier to keep clean (relatively... ) than my last jet black car.

I was concerned about resale, so I went with SG. It is going to be popular, but it is certainly unique at the same time. And really, who cares what others have? I'm not going to drive a pink car just so I can be "special".

I went with Monaco blue without seeing it. Every car we could find in the search was SG or Tit or black and I wanted something a little different.
I had black which looks beautiful clean, but shows too much dirt and spiderwebbing in the paint. I guess dark blue will only be a little better
to keep clean, but at least I won't look like everyone else. SO far I have seensilver white and black on the road, no blue, but I'm not having fun trying to keep it clean looking.

My current car is silver w/black interior, so wanted to change it. But, it's a classic combo and you can't go wrong with it regardless how many people have it.

Originally was going to order Monaco Blue until someone posted that it was too dark. Changed to AW then saw the mystic blue availability in Sept., so now I am down for mystic blue.

True- I think you have to choose whatever tickles your pickle. If you really like SG, but wont buy it solely cause you think its going to be popular, screw that. Buy it cause you like it, plus, you're going to have to look at that car for 2, 5, 15 yrs EVERY DAY..

Yea, I think about resale. I had a silver E46 and it was a me too color, so that is why I went with AW with black. Looks good and will be a easy sale down the road.

I decided that the best colour depends on the sunlight.
When it's sunny, SG looks great, but when it's overcast (as it is in the UK most of the time!), then it can look a little dull. Then titanium silver looks good. I went for titanium silver.

struggled with the plum colour of the SG. It was bugging me too much so I went with Monaco Blue. Again, in the sun it looks spectacular, when it is overcast it's like black, dark and heavy. I wished they had a nice mid range grey with a little life and no purple in it. Christ my friend drives a Ford Focus with a nicer grey than what BMW offers for the 3 series!

Iirc, back in earlier Mille Miglia and F1 days cars were color coded for their country - Britain was dark green (BRG), Italy red, and the big Auto Unions from Germany had German Racing Silver. So there is a strong tradition of silver for German manufacturers.

My favorite BMW color was Avus Blue, but I think Titanium Silver looks awesome on the E90.

My wife went with Monaco Blue Metallic and so far it's the ONLY MB where I live as of now. I knew that most people wouldn't go for that color, I love it to death now although at first I wasn't too sure of it because all I had to go off of were pictures. According to the guy who sold me the car someone else has just ordered MB, still not bad not like I will see it on every other car.

colours like Monaco Blue are fairly consistant whether it is day or night. I struggle with colours that change every 5 minutes based on cloud cover. Monaco blue is a classic colour and looks great, but you have to clean it like black!

i think having the new 3 is unique enough as it is... regardless of color. actually i'm more of the type that likes to blend in than stand out anyway. i probably should've just bought another toyota camry then huh? hahahaha. but i picked SG because I really like that color. I was shopping around, looking at other cars, but pretty much no matter which car i chose, it would've been in that dark gray/graphite color.

If you are worried about resale value or trying to sale your car privately, and quickly, then choose Jet Black or Titanium Silver.

I think white, black, silver, or gray are safe. The other colors would be a bit more challenging. The SG is very popular, as is black and silver.

Before seeing the new colors on the E90, I thought I would like Monaco Blue. I used to have a Galactic Blue VW Jetta and loved that shade of blue, but the Monaco Blue was much darker than I liked.

Then I saw the brochures of the Sparkling Graphite 330i and figured I would choose that color. But after my first test drive in a Titanium Silver 330i with sport package, my mind was changed again. The titanium silver, which always seemed boring on the E46, was much more impressive with the new body style. I think it has something to do with the more modern appearance of the E90.

Even though my order is already finanlized and I am happy with my choices, I admit that I'm still curious about the Mystic Blue that will be available in September. I liked that color on the E46 M3.

I think resale concerns are valid, but you should pick a color based on what is most pleasing to you right now. If you buy a color just to be unique, make sure it's your favorite BMW color.

That's cool! Christ is my friend too, but he doesn't drive a Ford (as far as I know).
