Wider Tires for stock 19's?
I am going to buy new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires for my stock 19" 220 wheels. What are the advantages/disadvatages of going with a wider tread?
Stock sizes are 245/35ZR19 and 265/35ZR19. Would 265/35ZR19 and 285/35ZR19 fit? Advantages/disadvantages over stock would be? Thanks for the input

The suggested min. rim width for a Michelin PSS for a 265/35/19 is a 9" rim. I don't think Michelin makes the PSS in a 285/35/19 size.
I wanted to go wider as well - had to go aftermarket to get the wider wheels and more agressive fitment. http://www.michelinman.com/tire-sele...techspec_table

I got 255/35 F, 275/35 R on 19x9 and 19x10 GTS wheels. I thought that would rub. But no issues at all, and no spacers.

265 front will fit the rim but won't perform well because it will be bulged and have a poor contact patch. 255 is the way to go for a 8.5 and 285 should be okay for back but is pushing it.

Anyone running 255/285 with any issues? Has it effected handling at all?

Go 255/35 & 275/35. Should easily fit without rubbing and this setup is also very close to the stagger of the stock overall diameter. So your DSC won't be affected much, if at all.

Best bet is to go to 255/35 and 275/35. These fit and wont rub (although depending on the tire you may get a hint of a rub at full wheel lock in front)

Thanks for the input. If I don't get new wheels, those are the sizes I'll likely go with.
