Part number for BMW Motorsport tow strap

Hi Guys,
Does anyone have the part number for the genuine motorsport tow strap?
I\'ve tried search and trawled Google but to no avail.
I know you can get these from Turner etc but I\'m about to put a bug order in through the UK equivalent to RealOEM so want to tag it onto that.
Cheers

Does anyone know the differences between the BMW Motorsports one and the Turner one?

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-27...90-e92-m3.aspx

Other than the extreme price difference?

take a look at it, the turner one uses a metal thread to screw into the existing location. The bimmerworld one requires removal of the actual bumper and loops around the bumper shock.

And both of those are different than the BMW Motorsports tow strap made for the E92 M3.

Here's what the BMW Motorsports tow strap for our car looks like:

The one Bimmerworld sells is more of a generic one (or maybe for the E46??) which requires removing the bumper. It's cheaper because it doesn't have that bolt that just screws in. And the BMW version also has a foam stopper inside of the strap that forces the tow cover out when you pull on the strap itself (which the turner version doesn't have).

Which strap is that part number for? BimmerWorld or Turner one?

This is funny. I've actually spent the last couple weeks trying to get that specific part # from BMW. Here is what i found out.....

The part number is correct. 7215 8321611 Retail is around $150
This is the official BMW Tow Strap. BMW isn't allowing any US dealer to import them. I've had three different dealerships try- paid for it twice. I even have a connection (my sister) in Germany that was going to get me one until I emailed Nate @ IND.

You need to make a custom bracket for this to work on your car. Apparently, it is a big pain in the @ss. I then called Turner Motorsports and they have 80 of theirs in stock. Theirs is a direct copy of the one that came on their E92 M3 race car that they had imported. It bolts right in. They don't offer any slit on the stock tow cap. They just remove it and pull out the tow strap.

I would just order it from Turner and be done with it. If you want one from Germany, I'm getting four. Two are already sold

Custom bracket? Do you mean customize the plastic plug cover in the bumper? Why is the BMW motorsports one any more of a PITA to modify the plug than the Turner one? looks like both just require you cut a notch in the plug.

The turner one actually isn't a direct copy. The one I posted a photo above is what the real one looks like. It has a foam plug that forces the tow cover to pop out when you pull on the strap. The turner one also looks a bit longer in length. I'm assuming this is the one specifically for the M3 GT4.

Classic BMW in Texas sells them (or at least they used to):
