do you have rear sunshade? I think it's that. others have noted it could be rear seat belt buckle as well.

nope, I don't have the rear sun shade so that's not it. My driver side window sometimes vibrates a little and it goes away when I lower the window so at least I know where it's coming from. The problem is when you take it to the dealer they say they can't hear it.......as always.

I have the dash rattle, the driver side seat belt pillar rattle and now the rear seat rattle. I was able to fix the rear seat one by dropping the seats down.

I cant find it anywhere.... But does anyone know how to remove the CIC. I did see something about some bracket behind the CIC that you can felt tap down or something.

And the drivers side seat belt pillar (Is it the B pillar?). How do I remove that to see whats going on behind that?

Anyone?

PS:
I know the dealer can do this, but they never seem to get anything right so I would rather do it myself.

I have the dash rattle too but when I,m driving I hear it coming from passenger dash area, don't hear the sounds FROm the middle ac controls area.

Could this be resonating to a different area?

How do uneven tak the ac unit out?

Are you sure it's not your dash trim rattling?

I had two rattles in my case, one was caused by the CIC and was fixed by my dealership by adding padding to the CIC bracket. The second one was caused by the dashboard trim between the center vents. I fixed that one myself by adding some padding behind the trim.

No its not the trim. Its a metallic BUZZING sound that sounds like its coming from INSIDE the dash...definitely dont hear it coming from AC controls area

Fixed the sqeaky creaky noise from the Nav area today.
Unscrewed the two torx screws that secured the Nav screen and it just hinges down.
Wiped the plastic piece that holds the unit in place with a cloth lightly wet with silicon spray and refitted the unit. Total time 2 minutes. Now nice and quiet.

Smile Solved

After having my M3 for 18 months and trying to convince myself that the damn dash rattle does not bother me - I finally gave in and allowed the dealership to look for the cause. After having a serious chat to the senior tech that worked on my car - instructing him not to strip my dash under any circumstances - they found the rattle - inside my radio. When my radio is out the rattle is gone - when they shake the radio outside the car you hear the rattle clearly. They requested auth now from BMW to replace the radio - Im going to have a rattle free M3 at LAST!!!

Hope this helps out someone else on this forum as well - I was starting to go crazy when driving my car - the rattle was the only thing I could hear - cannot wait for it to be gone.
