Hooked on Driving - March 3rd/4th - Homestead

Just a heads up to the Florida guys... We talked about this at the MORR meetup, and figured I'd throw together a post on it...

There is a Hooked on Driving event that is still open for registration at ALL levels (Advanced/Intermediate/Beginner) on March 3rd/4th at Homestead.


From the Hooked on Driving website:
Saturday will be our traditional 3 run group format with six 25 minute sessions per group and Sunday will be a two run group format with 7 thirty minute sessions per group.
Saturday will have the NASCAR Banking open for the Advanced group in the afternoon, and Sunday will have the NASCAR Banking open all day for the Open Passing group. In order to run the open group on Sunday, you must have run on Saturday.

Yep! I am running in Group A on Sunday; A friend of mine with a 911 Cabrio will also be running Group A on Sunday.

Remember guys... you don't have to go out there to break records or push your car beyond it's limits! It's just a safe environment with fellow gear heads to push your car as far as you want.

Seems like Sunday may be very busy in the non-open passing group.

As long as I am in town I will for sure be there at least one of the days. Look out for me in a silver 350z. It might look like a moving roadblock for you guys taking your Ms.

Is here other track days in the future? This weekend i will to miss, because of work. Or are this M3 forum organized their own track days.

there are lots of track days coming up from all of the various organizations down in south florida. none are m3 specific.

you can check the schedules of the following groups.

hooked on driving
fara
NASA
CHIN

and i am pretty sure I am missing one or two.

there is a website that tries to compile all the info. i believe it is www.trackweekend.com

Can't wait! Did an oil change and pre-track inspection yesterday, have my numbers and some clear contact paper from Home Depot, and my gloves . See you Sunday!

Yes the Z is what I'm taking (as long as I can get alignment done on Saturday). Intermediate group for me, so no banking.

What tech inspection are you guys going through before hand? You mean self tech, or actually taking your cars somewhere?

^^ I took my car to AA for an oil change and inspection. Hooked on Driving has a self evaluation form, but I wanted to get the car looked at and the form completed by professionals for my first time.

And I have to say, the supercharged m is amazing! Props to AA for making a solid kit. how do I talk them into sponsoring my m now?

Great to see you; had an absolute blast and am looking forward to doing it again!

+1 Matt on the car, it had a great sound on the track on par with anything else running and definitely was right at home with every other car out there.

Thanks for the compliments guys. It's a far more capable of a car then I am as a driver! But Raj, you definitely showed me how it's supposed to be driven!

Regardless, I gotta say I had a BLAST! Not just the driving, but it was an awesome group of guys. Great to meet Mike and George and I know Navid had a good time too.

Next track day might be too long to wait...

Oh, and does anyone have any pictures /videos from the day?

There were a TON of photog's there, but I don't see anything listed on the HOD website for them.
