No-EDC ride compared to E46 M3

How does the ride quality compare between the E92 M3 without EDC and the E46 M3?

I'm planning to order a stripped down coupe in the future and I'm curious how it compares to my 2003 E46 M3.

I have a e46 M3, getting e92 next, but I will not pass up this ZTP option.
Its a must for a performance car and a must have for reselling feature

edit: e93 to e92

Totally disagree, there will always be a market for strippers. There are also plenty of people who can't stand the double hump.

Sorry that you got , MTMnet

I ordered mine with No ZTP and no EDC. I rode on with no EDC and it rode great. I will be getting mine second week of May. I will let you know first hand. Someone already posted their reviews with no EDC and he was also satisfied. You are still getting an awesome handling car. Enjoy! Cant wait to get mine!!

Hey, zieglerc why would you even mention the double hump. The EDC has nothing to do with the Nav for the exception of the Tech Package. Do you know that you can but the EDC as a stand alone option?

Anyways, to answer your question MTMnet, if I were you, I would get the EDC. I have it and it's awesome. Being able to change how the car rides and performs is one of the many special feature that makes this car BAD ASS.

Next time try to answer the guy posting the tread. Not picking on someone else who is honestly trying to help.

Who pissed in your cheerios this morning, man? I wasn't picking on him at ALL, and I flat-out apologized (on ase2dais' behalf) to the OP for thread jacking.

Recommend you read the whole post before getting on my case to begin with.

I am one of those people that does not like the double hump.

The more electronics, the higher the cost and the higher potential for issues. My preference is to keep it simple and keep the cost down.

With that said, having the ability to change the settings from comfort to sport is kind of cool. If it was a daily driver, I would get it.

The ride is definitely softer. In the e46, when the car hits bumps, there is a harshness that is gone with the newer generation m cars (m5, m3). so, over bumps, it rides better. in the corners, its just as good, if not a little flatter.
the suspension is really one of the major improvements over the old car.

hope that helps

my e46 M3 was close to a stripper - no moonroof etc. it sold for top dollar.

the problem with a Tech package as far as resale (yes I ordered it) is that in 3 to 5 years the technology will be old and outdated and not as desirable as one may think. for example the early e46 M3 NAV sucked bad - anyone would be better off to buy an non NAV e46 and get the aftermarket NAV.

the advantage of EDC is that comfort and normal modes are ACTIVE and according to BMW the active mode in normal can be stiffer than the sport setting depending on conditions.
