That makes it even worst. Its people like you that give M3 drivers that douchey stigma. Learn your manners - if you got nothing nice to say about someone's new toy, then just grab a yourself a San Miguel, smile and shut the f up.

Lets hear a proper review of the car!! Love RS5s, can't find one close to me

Sure! Once I pass the break in period (1000 miles) I will write a review. I'm currently at 400 miles. There are things I like over the M but over all the M still my first choice.

RS5 is siiick, great looking especially while rolling. The new Cayman S however is badass and has really gotten me excited about Porsche again. Even though I have an Audi if it were me I may lean towards the Cayman S, but its a tough choice. My .02, drive both this weekend and pick the one your heart tells you to go with, not what we say LOL. Either way you go post pics on this thread!!

Lol! I agree with you. I was pretty much 100% decided on the porsche until a black/black rs5 became available at the local dealership! I'm checking both out this Saturday. I'll let you know!

Holy hell I was driving down the street the other day in my R8 and saw a black/black RS5 approaching me in the opposite direction. It looked so good I gave HIM a thumbs up LOL There's just something about it's stance and those front lights rolling that are mesmerizing. However the body on the Cayman S is unmatched in the Porsche lineup, until you get to the GT3 status. Oh the choices of the first world [problem] Good luck I'm glad I'm not in your situation! Get both problem solved

the problems we have. I've driven the cayman s but not the RS5. I'm a bit worried about going from my m3 to the cayman s because of power. The worst part about deciding is that both cars are within 50$ of each other, making it even harder to decide! Do post pics of your r8 as well

Having lived with both M3 and Cayman S for 1 1/2 yrs.
M3+ engine, engine, engine, amazing sound and power. Good tech, comfortable.
M3- poor range due to lousy gas mileage + small fuel tank. Expense is not so much the issue as convenience, it sucks having to fill up more than once a week. More intervention from traction control.

Cayman S + handling, balance, overall feel. Great traction due to rear weight balance. Surprising size of boots, no problem with grocery runs.
Cayman S - somewhat underpowered, but more than adequate for most situations.

RS5 seems like more of an M3 competitor than a Cayman rival. Similar power, high-revving V8, etc.
Not much to compete with Cayman at it's price level. Mid-engine rules.

If you had to pick between the cayman and the rs5 what would you choose?

I would'nt worry about that if I were you, the Cayman S and the M3 have pretty much the same straight line performance, I would even think that the Cayman would feel faster because of its torque/weight advantage, 275lb-ft/1350kg vs 295lb-ft/1620kg! In this video you can see the Boxster S with manuel tranny doing 111mpn trap speed on the 1/4 mile which is exactly the same as what a manuel M3 will do best!!(after at least 30-40 1/4mile runs with my stock manual M3 my best ET was 12.8@110mph and my best trap was 111mph in a 12.9 run and I have yet to see someone do better)

Thinking about picking up one as well, either in phantom black or daytona gray.

The car currently has 730 miles and here are my impressions so far:
The cold start is much smoother and shorter than the M and it does not happen all the time only the first time you turn the car on.

It pulls faster than the M from stop however I have a vert so my comparison might not be accurate.

It handles the curves better than the M but you have to push on the car so the Quattro works.

The oem sport exhaust sounds very good when the valves are open and defiantly is a must on this car. It drones a little but it doesn’t bother me.

The car is fun to drive in dynamic mode but boring in Comfort or Auto mode it becomes more like a luxury cp. The Dynamic mode has to be set every time the car is turned on otherwise it defaults to Auto (kind of annoying).

No adaptive suspension and the ride is hard, it doesn’t bother me but I can see some getting annoyed by it.

The transmission is 7 speed double clutch it shifts very smooth in both Manual and Sport modes. It is very quite not like my DCT. The only thing that bothers me that it has only one setting not the like the M.

The Steering is disappointing (like all electric steerings). It doesn’t give the feed back I’m used to get from the M but I’m getting used to it.
I still didn’t push hard on the car as the break in period is about a 1000 miles. Once I do I will write a detailed review.

I have a bad cold so excuse any typos

I got $3800 off the sticker price but I never heard of such a deal ...you can push for 2.5% off the sticker price. Test drive the car first and if you do make sure to put it in dynamic mode. Would I buy Audi again? ...Yes but it has to be RS or R8. I'm not regretting the purchase at all. By the way it gets attention everywhere even from guys who are driving Ferraris (mine is red )

WOW! That's a phenomenal deal. I am trying for 3%. I will have to give them a $1000 refundable deposit to bring it from the port to the dealership. I may do it. Thanks!! Enjoy your cars

Great car. After driving one on the track I wish it didn't understeer so much.
