I'm thinking about ordering a set of black TE 37s for my coupe and was wondering if anyone had any opinions on what size to go with.... I was going to either stick with 19's or go down to 18's for the additional ride comfort. The only thing I'm worried about with the 18's is that they will lookl to small with that style wheel.... Any help is appreciated

EDIT: just make sure your drop with 18 the car will look sick... OH AND SOME MEATY TIRES...

We've had customers go with both the 18" and 19", and it depends on your personal preference, but we don't think the 18" looks small at all, especially with some nice meaty tires:

18s! Look purposeful and cheaper tires! I'd be worried more about width and offset availablity. I know for sure that you can get 19s in 9.5 +22 and 10.5 +20. I think that's a pretty stellar setup. If you can get that in 18s, I'd definitely go 18.

@david: What are the specs of the TE37 on the above car? What finish is that also?

Those are TE37SLs in 18x9.5" ET22 and 18x10.5" ET20 wrapped in 265/35-18F and 285/35-18R Hankook RS3s.

Unless you need a 19” wheel for brake clearance, I see no reason not to go to 18”; less expensive tires, broader selection, better ride and better handling (except for tires with very soft sidewalls), more wheel protection from potholes. I have a second set of 18” Apex wheels, with Michelin PSS tires, and love the combination

Hey guys...relatively new here and probably a little clueless with this stuff as well. I'm considering something similar...

My 2012 coupe (non-ZCP) is being built right now. Being in the northeast, I anticipate that shortly after the car arrives, I'll be needing a heftier pair of tires (not heavy snow...but definitely wintry mix).

I was thinking of getting the TE37SL's (18x9.5 & 18x10.5) combined with Conti DWS's. I like the looks of the TE37's and the Conti's seemed like a decent all-season tire. Is this ridiculous? If not, what sizing does one think would work best on a stock non-ZCP M3? FWIW I have no intentions of lowering the car....I just don't want to deal with rubbing issues when I am cruising down I-95.

I appreciate anyone's input. Thanks in advance.

Though most people would like to use the TE37SL as a track wheel, there is absolutely no problem with using them as a daily driven wheel with all season tires. Being forged aluminum, the wheels are very strong and can withstand extreme conditions as well as harsh road conditions, so you can surely use this set of wheels on your M3 with no problems. Size is usually a personal preference, so either 18" or 19" would work on your stock non-ZCP M3.

Yeah, I doubt there is a lot of tracking in this car's future (mainly because I barely have the time to sleep and eat)...it's purely the construction and the aesthetics for me. Is there a size you'd recommend for the DWS? I was thinking something like 265/35/18 & 295/35/18, which are available through TireRack.

I have two sets of TE 37s in 18". The square setup is 9.5" et 28 and I use a 12mm spacer on the rear. The staggered is the same in front with a 10.5" et 22 in the rear. Love the wheels and just don't use my stock 19" as I prefer the ride of 18" (and the look). Huge clearance for BBKs as well.

Which setup do you prefer for the track, square or staggered?

Just wanted to chime in...

I don't feel any ride difference between my OEM 18" gumetals and my 19" TE37s. They felt exactly the same. If you're modifying the suspension with springs or coilovers, then it shouldn't matter to you anyway.

I am very picky with wheels, and it will take me months to decide. Once I decide, they will stay with the car for the life of ownership. I decided on gunmetal TE37s and I am very happy with my decision.
