Ipod Problem

Hi all, after many hours spent searching the threads on this site, I'm left with posting up my dilemma here. I just picked up a 2008 E90 M3, loaded. Everything is great but I am frustrated by the fact I can't get any of my Ipods to work correctly with the 6FL cable (or the white Ipod cable). I have three Ipods, a classic 30gb, an older 8gb nano and a more recent 16 gb nano (the longer one, not the current model). Both nanos, when connected, only display tracks as "aflb, akbl, etc". It doesn't show playlists either. The ipod classic (circa late 2006, 5th gen) isn't even recognized at all under USB via idrive. Please let me know what could be wrong here. I saw several threads similar in nature but they have not helped me fix the problem. I've tried resetting the ipods as well. I'd note the older nano and the classic sync with my Mac and the newer nano syncs with a PC.

I did try a flash drive out on it this morning and that worked perfectly and is a good solution except for the fact I can't easily recreate playlists.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Sears

I had this same problem after a software update. They claim to be fixing it by updating the audio module again. I'll post what they say was wrong when it is done. If you got a CPO they probably updated it the same way.

No worries, I got my problem solved...little did I know the y-cable in my car was a knock-off. Went by the dealership today after work and picked up the correct cable (had to pay, which sucked, since I bought it used from a different location) but now my ipod works as advertised. Very happy now. Good luck with your issue, hope it gets resolved.

Mine was software. They loaded COMBOX modules for my CIC equipped '09.
