Hi,
I am new to this forum and get hooked only because I am also about to buy an M3. I want to use it on the track, so I want it as light as possible, etc (not even heated seats.) But I test drove the 335i and the M3 6sp manual, M3 DCT, and the Audi TTS on the same day. In the city the 335i felt stronger up to 3500 rpm, and was more relaxed - but again the new M3 is not edgy at all, not like the e46 was. I could not decide upon the trany DCT vs 6sp, but now I will go with the 6sp manual. The Audi TTS was the most alert and agile of the bunch, more sport car feel than the M3 on my limited test drive. (no real backseats though) So unless you want to take your car to the track time to time, you will be happy with the 335i or 335xi. In real world traffic it will be just as fast as the M3, for 10k less. If you do not want backseats, want more sports car feel get the Audi TTS for 10k less. Again my experience is limited with these cars! Attila |

These threads are getting old. Either you want and M or you don't The 335i and M are very different cars. Go check them side by side and I am sure the M will catch your attention time and time again-then take them for a drive. With the M you'll know that your driving a sports car. |

First off, I live in Houston and there are plenty of M3s at both of the big dealerships. Secondly, why do people keep saying that the 335 is so much faster than the M3. That is simply false!!! A friend of mine has a 335 and trust me that when you put two stock versions of these cars head to head the performance advantage of the M3 is unquestionable.

thanks all....
M3 it is.......will "risk" the DCT issues .....hopefully they get it working perfectly but seems like using S mode is the stop gap until they do. Appreciate the feedback.
