Rim damage

I have the OEM 19" wheel and I slightly hit a curb.
My dealer says those rims can't be fixed (something to do with the type of alloy). I find it hard to believe especially after talking to other shops saying they can repair it.
Does anyone heard about not being able to fix the OEM 19" rims?

Post the Damage, if you have the tire and wheel insurance I'm sure the dealer will say "we can repair it" if you don't, then they can't repair it and it will cost you a new wheel - such a scam ahahahhaha

I also have the 19" oems and curbed my rear passenger side rim pretty good. Took it to a rim repair shop and they fixed it up no problem. Unless the rim is cracked the dealer is probably bsing you.

Unless there's some sort of structural damage, I don't see why a little curbage can't be repaired.

I think its to do with the type of finish they have. I curbed mine, had to get the diamond cut then relacquered. Looks like new.

Is it just a scratch or is it an actual deformation? Either one should be able to fix unless its cracked. I had mine rim repaired by my dealership, rim was both dented and scratched and came back looking like new after a day. It was actually vibrating before they had repaired it and now steering is smooth as silk.

just scratched, no real deformation. I'll have to check with my dealer again.

too bad you are not in So. Cal, other Son Tran would gladly fix your wheel for a very reasonable price.

I curbed my ZCP wheel after just two weeks of ownership....Son Tran fixed my wheel within an hour of time..and now I can't even point out the damage to my friends when I want to.

but yeah....it's definitely fixable..

Sounds like the dealer is trying to sell you a wheel.

If you just scratched it it should be easily fixed.

It depends how fussy you are. Not many places can make a perfect repair on the polished 19" rim.

Painted rims are easy, but polished and lacquered is another matter.

This is exactly right... Most shops won't touch them...and if they will it's because they don't know better. Don't expect a factory perfect finish... That is why the dealer told you that.
