Mt Baker drive 2017!

It's time for the semi-annual drive to Mt. Baker Artist Point! Planning an extended drive hitting all the twisties that take us in the right direction. The main stops will be the Glacier Ranger Station, Artist Point at the end of the highway, and North Fork Brewery for beer and eats. I do this drive at least once a year for the excellent roads and the delicious beer and pizza. Haven't done the group drive since 2015 which was a year that the weather turned nasty right in time for our drive. It was still great though!

Date: September 10
Meet up locations:

8:15am at Northgate Seattle - Parking lot to west of movie theater. Leaving promptly at 8:30.
9:30am at Burlington Haggen, 757 Haggen Dr (if needed to meet anyone from north) - South end of parking lot. Leaving soon after arrival.

Gas stops:
Several options but will likely be Kendall and Maple Falls.

Ending point:
North Fork Brewery, Beer Shrine, and Pizzeria at 6186 Mount Baker Highway (arrive around 2pm?)
Excellent beer that you can't get outside the brewery. The pizza is great too.

Who's invited:
Anyone who likes to drive and isn't a jackass.

Had a great time last week on the Snoqualmie drive, so hoping to do this one as well.

This looks like an all day trip for the most part?

It's blocked out on my calendar. Unless there is an unforeseen crisis, I am IN. This time around, I'd really like to get more cars involved in the video.

Date could be pushed back a week if the majority want that.

Total round trip to Seattle area if including some stops and a little sightseeing is probably 6-7 hours. Add an hour or so if doing the beer/pizza stop and we'll go our separate ways at or after the brewery.

Funny how I just stumbled on this thread. I went on the 2015 Mt. Baker Drive and even with the weather the day before good times (and beer) were had. Mosquito Lake Road was my favorite part of the drive.

Little did I know that within 6 months I would be moving to Pennsylvania. Been here now since January 2016 and getting situated but I think about the Pacific Northwest A LOT (the ///M Scene is just not the same in the greater Pittsburgh Area). Lol I drove 5+ hours a couple weeks ago for MPACT in Eastern PA).

You all enjoy and have fun. BTW, my X5 ///M just went into production yesterday. PCD Date tbd and the M5 goes back mid November.

Safe drive everyone

Good to see some familiar names here.

Fellas, I am officially out for next week's Baker cruise. During a cruise to a photo and video shoot on St Helen's, my F30 developed major failure. After a short pull, I developed power loss, followed by clouds of white smoke. I ended up getting stuck about 20mins south of Olympia and had to be flat-bedded home. Tonight, I'll put the car up on the lift and see where a small amount of oil/fuel is coming from. I am guessing my turbo is shot.

Car's going to the dealership tomorrow. It's back to stock trim so things should be covered. From my inspection, I am thinking injector failure in at least 2 of the 6 cylinders.

this is still a GO!

looks like the total count is 4 now from the forum? since the group is small, you can bring other car friends if they're cool!

I've cross posted on PNW M cars FB group as well
