M Performance Parts? Aftermarket?
Hey guys/girls
I'm picking up an E90 M3 Alpine White this coming march. I was thinking about buying the spoiler, front splitters and cf mirrors, but I'm not sure if I want to go with BMW parts or aftermarket. While there are some very nice aftermarket lips/bumbers (and so on), I would also like to keep my car as 'stock' as possible. Any thoughts? I haven't been able to see the front splitters in person since I am currently out of the country. Has anyone here seen them? How do you like them? Your opinions are highly appreciated. |

Get whatever you like. It doesn't really matter. Just but quality you are comfortable with.

Thanks for all the replies guys. And London, thank you for pointing me to your album. I have been looking for good pictures of an E90 with the front splitters for ages now. This will definitely help.
Any thoughts on the M performace exhaust? seems way to pricey for a sound upgrade. Although I did hear that it brings the M3 to 425hp. is that true? |

I get mixed reviews about the front splitters, but I think they look great:

Different strokes for different folks. There's no rush on deciding now. You should try to go to meets so you can see up close what the mods look like. If you can't, like everyone said here, check out the other forums like the picture and the exterior forums so you can get an idea of what you'd like. There are tons of aftermarket companies out there for you to look at. You don't have to commit to one. I mixed and matched things with a little OEM and a little aftermarket and I don't reget any of my decisions. If you decide to change your mind, there's nothing wrong with that either. For example, I went through a trunklid, and 2 different trunk spoilers before I finally settled with the performance spoiler, and I'm thinking about changing out my wheels. You can just sell the stuff on the for sale forum and use that money to help you get the other things. Whatever you do, don't limit yourself and think everything put on your car needs to be the final product.

to me M perf parts is something same as aftermarket but overpriced, maybe im cheap. I got all my lip, CF goodies from ebay at 1/3 or maybe 1/2 of the price of M perf parts . BTW all of them fit perfectly though

I think as of now, I'm leaning toward a Vorsteiner lip (I guess they are popular? eh.. they look good so fuggit), OEM grill and OEM spoiler. I have mixed feelings about the splitters. They look GREAT from the front, but from any other angle they just don't do it for me.
Slo guy is right though . I should go to some meets and check different set ups. I just can't wait to get in my car! As far as the ZCP wheels, I hear pictures don't do them justice. Is this true? Because as of now, I'm looking at switching to something else. Thanks for all the input. I'm currently in Afghanistan and have not been able to see anything in person.. pictures only! |
