Motortrend's Top 40 New Cars.

I don't see a C63 AMG, nor do I see a Lexus IS-F anywhere on this list, however I DO see an M3 DCT right up there with the greatest cars in the world!!!!

..and I have NO problem with any of the cars coming before the M3!! It's great company for our car.

1. Audi R8
2. Corvette ZR1
3. Ferrari Scuderia
4. Nissan GT-R
5. Porsche 911 GT2
6. BMW M3
7. Cadillac CTS-V

They specifically said M3 DCT. However, I highly doubt having a manual makes this amazing car fall further down on their list.

The M3's chassis balance is sublime, the steering surgically precise, the brakes bulletproof, that yowling V-8 utterly intoxicating. And now the lightneing fast, seven speed, dual clutch, paddle-shift tranny ties it all together. This car has more depth, more layers of expertise, than any previous M3.

They said specifically "M3 DCT" on the list. Didn't mention a separate "M3 6 sp".

I hope M3 DCT is not the high performance version of the M3, like AMG for the C-class and F for the IS.

They probably take the money into account.

Obviously no one would rather have a ZR-1 than a Scuderia. No one who's opinion on anything should be valued or even heard.

Garage List
I would have removed the Ferrari Scuderia from that list and replace it with the LP560/4. Also the list of the top 6 should have went like this....

1. Audi R8
2. Nissan GT-R
3. Lamborghini LP560/4
4. Porsche 911 GT2
5. Corvette ZR1
6. BMW M3

There is no denying that considering it's weight and output the GTR punches well above it's status and for the M3 to even be mentioned among such motors is extremely high praise indeed.

My list would have been:
1 Ferrari 430 Scuderia
(2 Porsche GT3RS)
3 Porsche GT2
3.5 ZR1
4 Lambo Gallardo 560-4
5 Nissan GTR
6 M3 6MT

The reason they didn't test the 6MT was out of courtesy to the other manufacturers. Sort of a gentleman's agreement. Having the M3 6MT at #1 and then also the M3 DCT at #6 would not be nice.

The R8 is #1? Really? I want one person here to tell me they would rather have an R8 than a scuderia, a zr1 or a gt2. Hmmm R8 or ferrari scuderia....... tough one. Its a great looking car no doubt but I dont think its worthy of #1 with the gt2 and the scuderia on the list.
