It is also fun to mess around with guys driving M5's and M6's cause it can run all day long with them and they have no idea what hit them
500hp? mods?

M3 > M5

So go one way or the other - light and nimble, or sedan size with good horsepower relative to the weight.
Track times disabuse the notion that the M5 is a quicker all-rounder. Straight line, yes. But the M3's the faster all-rounder. It's no mistake that BMW bases its motorsport entries (GT, ALMS etc) on the M3.

Which are the colors that are only available on the M3 not the 335i?

Agree. The m5 is faster in a straight line above 100mph and the m3 is a quicker all around car. But I believe the previous poster was wondering what roads you're driving on on the street where you would truly notice a difference in handling between an m5 and an m3. If you're pushing your car to the limits of adhesion on the street (track is a different story), then I'll be sure to get out of your way when I see you coming

so wrong on this

I know SSII and IB are. I think MR might be as well, but I'm not sure.

With current unbelievable lease rates on M3, you should consider leasing instead of buying. These lease Reisduals and Money Factor make it much cheaper to lease brand new 2011...than buying CPO-used-pre owned.... at the end it always comes down to "Value vs Owed" and buying used will most likely put you underwater in a few years,- owing more than the car is worth... Only in America we have such great lease rates/deals etc,... we take it for granted really... With lease, you can always buy out lease after
I was shopping for pre-owned myself, but decided to lease instead and very happy with my decision,- this way I built my perfect M3 with everything I want and don't want in it!

Perfect time to get M3- Competition Package!
This is a crazy statement. What kind of finance period are you assuming? Don't most people buying this type of vehicle new or used pay for the car outright "in a few years" (36-48 months). So how could you possible be upside down (underwater as you put it)?

Depending on your interest rate, loan length (up to 72 months), and down payment it can definitely happen.
