ESS VT-625 Vs M5 F10 and Mercedes SL Black series

I was participating in a GT Board event a couple of weeks ago, the m3 were performing really well.
In the beginning of the day I had a top speed of 280-290 in the end of the track, in the afternoon I actually was able to get over 300 a copula of times.

VS SL Black Series

I'm guessing the black series had a double clutch transmission. He was catching you up on each gear change. Great videos. Looks like you had a great time.

NICE runs. I'm impressed with the ESS VT625 vs. that V12 biturbo BEAST.

Both cars would've got walked hard if the OP was driving a DCT. Black series was catching up with every gear change. And no this isn't a bash a manual comment......it's a fact.....................Phil

People seem to give the DCT gearbox far more credit than it is worth, according to my opinion.
Of course you will gain a couple of meters in similar cars with equally skilled drivers
But far more important is power and good tires, for example i raced another Vt 625 manual at the event with street tires ( i have toyo 888) i did beat him with 5-8 cls.
People are investing a lot of money in superchargers ant then they can’t use the power because they don`t invest in proper R-tires.
I think it is necessary with sticky tires at this power levels..

I'm not slamming your victory....I'm only stating the obvious here. It's clear to see as you change gears he creeps up. The power you are putting down is not at question nor are your "wheel skills". I'm just stating that if you were in a DCT equipped car your margin of victory would have been greater...............Phil

I'm with you on the tire thing, it's pretty simple just get some tires that work, lol. I have a VT3 and the car hooks from 2nd gear with no issues running the R888's as well.

DCT is a huge advantage, there's no opinon on it, it's FACT, not unlike the Turbo S PDK vs. 6MT, do you think the GTR would be as fast as it is with a 6MT? There's a few runs here and there where we see a 6MT do very well against a DCT, but it's no secret that in every performance outcome, 60-130, 1/4 mile, and most sbs racing vids, DCT is ahead and by a large margin in some of those results. Regardless excellent job, your car is moving very well.

Per I've owned two MT's and I shift in 0.6 sec's ( not power shifting ) and now own a DCT and let me tell you that they are worlds apart , equally power equipped M's one being MT and the other DCT the dct will out run the Mt by a good 2-4 car lengths period ! The DCT shifts in 0.30 millisecond's which also gains 1k -1,300k in up shifts which will net you 50-70whp advantage through each gear so you can see how the DCT is faster ...

But great runs on your part nonetheless

Cheers
